Another gun manufacturer leaves the East

And moves south…..To where they are welcomed and where gun laws (and, lets face it, employment laws) make it easier to do business.

Remington Leaves it’s ancestral home of Illion, New York for a new home in LaGrange, Georgia.

Is anyone really surprised?  Smith and Wesson made a similar move. Why should Remington stay where the State hates their product and the union hates them?

I expect Caterpillar to finish leaving the Peoples Republic of Illinois in a few years for the same reason.

A lot of talk

but I’ll go  7:3 that the “Truckers Boycott” never gets rolling and will fizzle rapidly.

It’s a sad thing, but there it is.

I hope I am wrong, but probably am not.

One would ask why

The US Army is spending any of it’s budget on Ukraine?

US Army says it will RUN OUT of money to protect Europe and Africa by May if Ukraine aid isn’t approved: Congress facing growing pressure to send more money to keep basic operations going

Not up to the Army leadership to spend money on Ukraine or anywhere else. That’;s up to our political leaders.

‘Twould seem to be misappropriation of funds unless they are tasked to go into battle for Ukraine or ordered to spend their ammo money or others supplies by the President (or congress) and to my knowledge, neither has happened.

No better way to make me pass on by

When looking at the vendors wares at a gun show this weekend.

I mean flying a Nazi flag? Seriously. It’s one thing if you are selling antique memorabilia, I can (sorta) understand that…Not that I want anything like that, but some folks do and seem to think it is a collectible item.

But new manufacture Nazi flags?

Nope I won’t take your stuff (any of your stuff) even of you are giving it away with a coupon for free ice cream.

Hard pass.

I think that most of the patrons at the guns show agreed with me as well, as he was looking kinda lonely.

Now that’s a horrible thought:

America, I give you… Madam President Michelle Obama:

Anyone surprised that they are floating this idea?

Joe is on his way out, Kamala is a non starter, and as far as I know they have no other viable candidate….

But she is no more qualified than say, my neighbor’s dog (although he’s pretty smart).

I’ve seen this sort of story in a few places…expect this to grow feet for a while while they see if this can work.

Third world rule

Of course, I’ve written about the issues in Dolton, Illinois as regards the city’s infrastructure, especially the water system.

But now we see even more issues with the town’s governing officials:

You should be ashamed’: Mayor of Illinois town fires back at critics after being slammed for high salary demands and using city money for hair, make-up and luxury trips across the US

Then there’s the fact that she voted herself a $300,000 salary… (remember, she thinks that whites should pay for the worn out and damaged water infrastructure, but she gets a $300K salary (and many others in governments are similarly compensated)

and now?

shutting down businesses that refuse to donate to her campaign

And the best one? The cops cars are about to be repossessed.

They elected a third world government and now they are getting third world governance. Rather than elect people based on qualifications and morals and such, they choose….poorly. They went from incompetence, to a ruler that acts like a tribal warlord.

But hey, it’s all about color and race, innit?

An interesting point

Trump’s $355 MILLION dollar judgement is not reparations to someone or a comapny, not compensation for damages. Not paying damages to anyone. There were no damaged parties in this suit. No single financial institution claimed damages, nor will any company that did business with Trump or his organization get a dime from the judgement against him.

Nope. Instead, this is a fine. A fine levied against the Trump organization for ….something.

Again, this is not “damages” nor will the monies go to anyone that did business with him or his organizations…this is money taken by the State of New York as a fine….for a “crime” with no victims, and without damages. Just a complaint by the state that they didn’t like the way he did businesses. There were no “Injured Parties”, just an unhappy state’s attorney with a political agenda.

Think about that. No damages, no complainants….just the state extracting revenge for …..?

I’m not gonna pay his bills….

I mean, I think he got screwed, and should appeal the verdict.

But I’m not gonna contribute to the Go Fund Me for Donnie that is (supposedly) gonna pay his $350+ million fine and expenses.

He’ll win on appeal, but for now, that’s his worry, not mine. Part of the ccost of doing business in New York.

But apparently there’s enough folks that wish to help pay his fine…so that he has already collected $77K (as of 14:30 Central time on 2/17/24)

More power to him. But count me out.

Funny what they choose NOT to report, innit?

I mean, we have Alexei Navalny all over the news…He died in a Russian prison camp , arrested for defying Valdimir Putin and being an opposition candidate. Lots of stories about him being killed, All over the news. Wall to wall converage of his death with lots of speculation. Lots of condemnation of Putin and Russia.

And yet we also have Gonzalo Lira, who was pro- Putin.pro Russia, but anti Volodymyr Zelensky and anti-Ukraine…… Imprisoned in a Ukrainian jail, his recent death went unremarked. And the mainstream media is practically silent.

Funny innit, how that works?
