A view of what is to come

The Romneycare bill comes due.

But last August Beacon Hill was forced to impose new price controls and a cap on overall state health spending because “health-care spending has crowded out key public investments,” as Mr. Patrick puts it in his budget.

He’s right about that: Health care was 23% of the state fisc in 2000, and 25% in 2006, but it has climbed to 41% for 2013. On current trend it will roll past 50% around 2020—and that best case scenario assumes Mr. Patrick’s price controls work as planned. (They won’t.) In real terms the state’s annual health-care budget is 15% larger than it was in 2007, while transportation has plunged by 22%, public safety by 17% and education by 7%. Today Massachusetts spends less on roads, police and schools after adjusting for inflation than it did in 2007.”

AND:

“Last week the second-term Democrat followed his party’s recent habit and proposed an increase in the state’s single-rate income tax to 6.25% from 5.25%, the first in more than 20 years. The Bay State constitution requires a flat rate, so the Governor is sticking it to all taxpayers.”

Just wait until it is nationwide. Until you have to wait weeks for an appointment. Until the cost triples. Until Doctors won’t work because they don’t get paid enough (or for months or years).

Just wait….

“Immigration reform”

11 or 12 or 15 million new democratic voters….
(The number varies depending on who you listen to). Liberals want to grant them amnesty.

The message: Come here, wait long enough, break the law long enough, and we will reward you with citizenship.

While I feel sorry for those folks who have been here for a long time, who raised a family and put down roots here, they chose to do so illegally. They chose to live the life they did. I feel for people whose better option is to live in this country illegally. What a terrible place they must have moved from for that to be a better choice.

But I do not want a blanket amnesty like 1986, which gave 3 million law breakers, people who chose to cheat, and who had no real ties to this country, no “skin in the game”  no loyalty to this country and what it stands for , who cared only for the economic wealth and the security living in this country provides. People who then began agitating for MORE amnesties, and MORE entry barriers to be taken down. Whose loyalties were to their race and culture, not to the Constitution nor the rule of law. Who made the barrios even worse than they were before, because they had no fear of deportation.

That amnesty left us with an emboldened group of illegal immigrants, a larger pool of crime, and still, thanks to a series of lawsuits (and a congress who lied to us), a border no more secure than when the “conversation” on the issue began. Essentially, the amnesty in 1986 gave us nothing but trouble.

Fast forward to today. Same thing, only 11 or 12 or 15 million more people who owe no allegiance to this country, to it’s laws, nor to it’s Constitution. More people who will not assimilate into the “Great Melting Pot:, but will, rather invade.

And an invasion it is. Aided by our liberal leaders, who kowtow to those same people who gained legitimacy in the last amnesty.  Invasion because no assimilation. Invasion because no melding of culture. Invasion because they agitate for an Hispanic state…the return of Azatlan. An invasion, because they owe a greater allegiance to other brown people from Mexico or “Latino culture” than they do to the country they are invading. They have no interest in our laws.

While I think it would be difficult to round ’em up and deport ’em. It would not be difficult to get them to self deport. large enough fines would be a method to discourage anyone from employing them. Cutting off any “entitlements” unless they prove citizenship wouldn’t hurt either. No money, they’ll move back home.

But the real point of this diatribe is that the pro amnesty forces are working in the background while the rest of us are watching the gun control farce hearings

So they admit

That  little they can do will prevent the sort of tragedy that was Sandy hook.

Registration wouldn’t have done it
The ‘Assault Weapons Ban” was already in place in Connecticut
Background checks wouldn’t have helped (in fact, the waiting period didn’t do it either)

But, we need all those things in order to prevent something like that from happening again.

The gun banners are lying cheating weasels. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. The Media, the papers, and the other politicians.

And the cries about the gun deaths are crocodile tears. No one wants to admit that most gun violence happens in ethnically and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, among teens who are not model citizens, and who won’t get their weapons legally. Who, in fact, never have.

But no one will call them on it.

They will ask for everything, and end up getting something. That something (what it is remains to be seen) will still not change the possibilities of another Sandy Hook, or an Aurora, And it wouldn’t have kept Gabby Giffords from being shot, (and subsequently used as a pawn by those who would disarm the rest of their countrymen). Her husband lies claims Universal Background checks would have prevented her from being shot….Except that her shooter PASSED a background check when he bought his GLOCK. That something, likely background checks, will, ultimately, reduce your freedoms.

Which is, really, their aim anyway.. Disarm you, reduce the prevalence of firearms, and eventually end gun ownership, until the populace is disarmed.

They’ll take what they can get today, and come back for the rest as soon as they think they can get them.

Call, email, Fax, Send a telegram….whatever it takes. Make sure your congressweasels get the message.

HERE. Think on it. Decide.

I was working up a post on this same subject, but I shall step aside and allow a master wordsmith to speak for me. His prose is better and more eloquent than mine will ever be. Pay attention.

The time is coming when you shall have to make that decision:

 Serf or Citizen?

It will be sooner than you think…..And uglier than you can imagine.

Decide……Soon.

Before the decision is made for you.

Be ready.

They are preparing.  Are you?

Justa thought:

“By failing to prepare, you are, indeed, preparing to fail.”

Franklin, Benjamin

Look forward, what do you see? Can you see difficulties? Can you prepare to eliminate (or at least mitigate) those issues?

Then do so. Soon.

Plan ahead. Prepare for the storm that it approaching.

Those who fail to learn from history

Are doomed to repeat it.

Reeds Exhibitions failed to observe what happened to him in,IIRC, 2007 when he posted on his blog at Outdoor Life the following:

I must be living in a vacuum. The guides on our hunt tell me that the
use of AR and AK rifles have a rapidly growing following among hunters,
especially prairie dog hunters. I had no clue. Only once in my life
have I ever seen anyone using one of these firearms. I call them
“assault” rifles, which may upset some people. Excuse me, maybe I’m a
traditionalist, but I see no place for these weapons among our hunting
fraternity. I’ll go so far as to call them “terrorist” rifles. They tell
me that some companies are producing assault rifles that are
“tackdrivers.” Sorry, folks, in my humble opinion, these things have no
place in hunting. We don’t need to be lumped into the group of people
who terrorize the world with them, which is an obvious concern. I’ve
always been comfortable with the statement that hunters don’t use
assault rifles. We’ve always been proud of our “sporting firearms.” This
really has me concerned. As hunters, we don’t need the image of walking
around the woods carrying one of these weapons. To most of the public,
an assault rifle is a terrifying thing. Let’s divorce ourselves from
them. I say game departments should ban them from the praries [sic] and
woods.[2]

The result was, for him, significant and swift: The public outcry was loud. People, sportsmen and hunters, demanded action.  They got it.

He lost his job a spokesman for Remington, his Outdoor Channel show was put on hold, and Outdoor life essentially fired him. Other sponsors severed their relationship with him as well. His career was, for all intents and purposed, over.

Same with Reeds Exhibitions. While there are other shows, of other types that they will promote and manage, they have, for all intents and purposes lost the shooting and outdoors segment of their business. Eastern Sports and Outdoors show is, essentially, history. Likely they will lose the SHOT show because of public outcry.

Political correctness doesn’t fly among sportsmen, no matter it be fishing, hunting, trapping, or whatever. We tend to see reality as it is.

Too bad Reeds doesn’t..Yet. Likely neither will our politicians until they start something they won’t like.

Be aware

That while we are all up in arms over gun control, the legislature are quietly talking “immigration reform”.

Essentially, amnesty to 11 million or so illegal immigrants.

So let your congressmen know that you don’t like that idea either.

Do it in a separate phone call or email or fax.

I wonder if this whole thing isn’t planned out ahead  of time…keeping us distracted over gun control while slipping the knife into our backs over illegals.

Goalposts, moving of:

So Obama wants the Republicans to compromise on gun control:

Here the thing, if we are gonna “have a discussion” on gun control, then lets have one.

The left wants us to compromise from the current position, which was a compromise of the current position then….They keep wanting a compromise from the previous compromise . They steadily move the goalpost from zero control towards confiscation. Every few years, they stand on their current position and say “we need to have a conversation on gun control” We need to compromise” the thing is, for many of us, the last few compromises went too far already.

We cannot keep on “compromising” our rights freedoms, and ability to resist tyranny away every few years.

If the left *REALLY* wants a “conversation” on gun control then let us have one:

On the table is all the below legislation:

National Firearms Act of 1934
Omnibus Crime Control act of 1968
Gun Control Act of 1968
Firearms Owners Act of 1986

Lets “discuss” those regulations….With an eye towards repealing them. Let’s compromise.

And let us put the ATF (BATF(e)) back to a taxing agency, not an enforcement agency with what are essentially stormtroopers.

When those are all subject to repeal, Then we can we have a “discussion” about compromises.

Today, they want to play checkers. We have been playing chess for a while. But I think that that the chess players on their side are waiting and watching. So should we.

Keep calling your senators and congressmen. State reps too. Even if you KNOW they will vote one way or another, keep the pressure on. Keep them informed as to what you want. Encourage others to do the same.

You can find your legislators at the top of the left side, under “How to find your congresscritters” Take the time to call…Or FAX….or Email. If they vote on our side, encourage and support them. If not,and they vote against your views, then make sure they know that they are pissing off a constituent. One who votes.
