The state of our country is the fault of the GOP leadership.

Blame the GOP for our current issues.

No, really, blame the GOP. Not for the reasons that you think, but for the specific reason that they ran a RHINO like John McCain instead of someone else. Someone new. Someone that was, if not exciting, wasn’t off-putting to so many people. Someone who had a conservative agenda—A Real Conservative Agenda. Someone who we could get behind and support. Someone who people could vote for?

If Sarah Palin was All That, then why was she not put forth in the primaries as a presidential candidate? Why did the RNC support McCain instead of pushing Bobby Jindal or even Fred Thompson? Was it just a payoff to McCain for all of his years of loyal service? Why him and not a true conservative?

Make no mistake, I voted for McCain. But it was under protest. I’d have voted for nearly any other member of the RNC had that choice been offered to me. I think that that is true of a lot of others as well. And for those who were fence sitters between Obama and McCain, why should they have voted for McCain? What did he offer? Dinosaur like policies that were really not composed of conservative values? (Let’s not forget McCain-Feingold!). Did he offer anything new or exciting? Not for me, and apparently not for anyone else either. Obama at least offered something new (although that “change” is not turning out very well, is it?). People wanted something new. And the GOP didn’t give it to them.

Or was the run for president just a sop to McCain, with no expectation of winning? Was the plan all along to fail in order to let a real conservative into the White House and pick up the pieces in 2012? Was it more than that?

Seriously, WTF were they thinking? Abandon the principles of the GOP (at least as I understand them to be) and run a liberal as a GOP candidate? Free markets? Free speech? Welfare reform? Border security? 2ND amendment? Personal responsibility vs nanny state? John McCain was not a conservative on any of these issues. Why did they not give the voters something to vote FOR rather than something to vote against?

And because of that decision to run McCain, we have what we are currently experiencing. A redistributionist president who seems not to care that he is destroying the country and impoverishing it’s citizens, who is removing the incentives for people to strive to get ahead and succeed, and destroying all that which has made this country the best and most productive society in the world for so many years. We have a president who seems to want to push this country into socialism…that same socialism which has made once great Britain into a second rate shadow of what it once was and a laughingstock to the rest of the world. Socialism which has destroyed France (although that seems to be slowly changing under Nicholas Sarkozky). Socialism in which there is not any reason to strive, and which, in the interest of “Multiculturalism” and “fairness” destroys the fabric of law and common sense and the underlying social contract that once let this country excel and gave anyone on the soil of the US an even chance to succeed.

An economy, which once his policies are enacted, (or even suggested!) is tanking as fast as it can. A policy which will reward failure and tax success. One in which those who have chosen not to take advantage of the freedoms and benefits which gives us the chance to succeed (and therefore, the chance to fail) are to be given the rewards that those who did take advantage and who took risks and strived for success have earned. One in which success and strife are discouraged rather than encouraged, by removing the reward of success.

As I said, it’s all the fault of the GOP. They gave the country nothing to vote FOR, and a lot to vote against. And thus we are here today.

Either this guy is right, or Obama is clueless..

My vote is on clueless. For both him and his advisers. Perhaps, because he has led a fairly sheltered life post academia, he has not gained the sense and knowledge that most of us pick up by the time we are 18 or so and get a life away from the protections of parents and family.

Either way, it’s an interesting read.

And here, I thought that it was I that needed a tinfoil hat.

Seems like I am not the only one that thinks that Obama might have a plan to destroy the US economically. Perhaps he hates the US? Or perhaps he is the “Manchurian Candidate

My bet, however, is still on clueless.

But hey, the majority wanted “change”.

Failure is it’s own reward…..

Obama, in the interest of “fairness” and to help those who are down on their luck is going to give some folks (some animals are more equal than others, apparently) reduced interest mortgages down to 2%..

I’d really like to see my mortgage reduced to 2% too.

So people who are a bad credit risk get the lowest rate of interest courtesy of those who are still solvent and pay taxes. How much longer will those who are frugal and realistic in their purchases of homes be able to support the burden of those who aren’t? How much longer will the folks who are productive be willing to carry those who aren’t? And eventually, they are gonna ask, “Why should we” ?

How long can this go on? When will we take the rope and trees and pitchforks and the politicians and assemble them properly?

I guess that all those who said that he was a communist/socialist/Maoist were right……

So they admit that they have no idea what is going on…..

Scientists are baffled as to what is causing the “global warming” trend to change to a holding pattern, where temps are flat since 2001.

Never mind that many scientists never joined the “consensus” and never mind that the scientific method says that when your model does not fit the facts, that there must be something wrong with your model (not something wrong with the facts, as the GW crowd would have us believe).

No matter how much they pout, and how much they spin the observations, it appears that Global warming is halted, and that there is no explanation in the global warming (AKA: climate change) models for the current observations.

Maybe it’s just bad science…Or maybe it was just a ploy to make AlGore a lot of money?

Pot chasing kettle

Some pigs are more equal than others

The pot has issued the kettle an ultimatum: tax dodgers beware.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who was forced to fork up $34,000 in unpaid back taxes, told the House Ways and Means Committee Tuesday that the Obama administration will be going after people who avoid and evade taxes.”

This is SO not funny. He can “forget” to pay his taxes, but will actively prosecute others who do the same. Will they get the break he got, and be allowed to pay them with no penalty?

How many of the Obama cabinet and staff will they end up prosecuting??? Enquiring minds want to know…..

Apparently the feeling is tha the rules should only apply to others…

And this is exactly what the majority of the people have failed to realize. The same group that voted for Barack Obama. While a part of that group elected him because he was black (both a majority of African-Americans AND a significant percentage of white people (which leads to a question of racism, but I think I’ll discuss that later) ) Others elected him because they wanted “change”. And change they are getting.

Soon they will have more “change” than they ever imagined. More government than they ever dreamed of. A government that is large enough to give them everything they want, (or so they think). Are they willing to accept it when that same government takes everything that they have?

Are there any thoughts as to how the government will pay for the things that Barack has promised to everyone? How much longer we can go forward when 40% of the people are paying for the other 60%? When Mr. Obama and his liberal, wealth hating, anti-establishment redistibutionist associates wish to raise the tax burden on that 40% to pay for an inefficent government with a redistibutionist agenda? Interesting how now folks who are planning to reduce their wages to reduce their taxes (going “John Galt“) are now “unpatriotic“. One might think that Mr. Obama and his associates feel that one segment of the population must be productive (in servitude?) to another, non productive segment. Do they really think that 40% who work and pay taxes should be required to support the other 60%? Will they?

What has become of this country where we have gotten to the point where we tax the producing citizens to the point where they are willing to reduce their workload (and therefore their income) because the are taxed to the point where it is no longer worth it to work harder for less money?

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation…You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Change. Indeed.

A truly paranoid individual might think that the “Stimulus Bill” was put forth with the intent of bringing down the stock market….thereby removing the fortunes of those who made a fair amount of money ( AKA the “Rich”) to bring them down to the level of those who made less, and therefore saved less. Thus making us all “equal”.
