Werds of Wisdom on Wednesday 34

“You cannot change the past, but a wise man will learn from it, a fool will not”

“The first ‘step to freedom for ourselves is to stop worrying about what others think:  Only then we can truly decide where we want to be”

“Only when you empty the cup can you pour fresh tea”

“You see a person’s true colors when your presence is no longer beneficial to them”

“Fate rarely calls upon us at a time of your choosing.”

“Some people are worth fighting for. Be one of those people”

“You are not what happened to you, you are what you choose to become”

“Sometimes, when saying nothing has had no effect, you have to speak up rather than remain silent”

A good start:

(But I bet they find the money, somehow, to buy them anyway, even without being able to use food stamps for them…)

Nebraska bans the purchase of soda and energy drinks from SNAP program.

Useta be that you could only buy real, nutritious, food with food stamps. I hope that this idea spreads, Ideally, no prepared foods, no sugary drinks, no baked goods, no frozen pizza or “lunchables”, etc. Just meat, cheese, vegetables and pasta and suchlike.

I wonder if we really want them?

I mean, all these new refugees from South Africa….These are the ones, the white farmers and business owners who weren’t smart enough or forward thinking enough to leave when they had their chances years ago.

Do we really need more short sighted refugees coming her into the country?

Overheard at breakfast:

“The Mexican Nay ship wreck in New York?  sad, but it shows that perhaps the Mexicans should stick to wading across rivers instead”.

Poor taste, perhaps, but funny, nonetheless. I may have spit my coffee across the table.

That must have been a fairly sophisticated bomb….

I mean, whoever built the bomb that was used in the attack on the Palm Springs Fertility Clinic did a good job.

If you look carefully, you might notice that the force of the explosion was almost entirely unidirectional. Not out to the sides so much, but almost exactly and entirely forward. (look at the overhead photos)

This was a fairly sophisticated engineered device. Not just a gob of explosives in a car.
