Probably true:
Probably true:
“Enjoy the little things in life…you will look back upon them and remember them as Big Things”
“Often, the most powerful form of presence is absence”
‘If you are unwilling to sacrifice for what you desire, that which you desire will become the sacrifice”
“Storms often test your weakness but can demonstrate your true strength”
“Friends and lovers: Some love you for how you make them feel, others for the truth of who you can be”
“If your absence doesn’t affect them, your presence never mattered”
“One aspect of true love, and true friendship, is respecting each other’s dignity”
“Even after the worst storm, the birds still sing”
for the outcome of the Candian elections.
Maybe there is some truth there, but remember, these are the people that elected Trudeau. ….THREE TIMES.
Yu can;t fully blame the United States President and his policies when a (VERY) liberal populace elects a Liberal leader. It’s what they really want and why Canada is a nothing country. More like Europe than the US.
Blaming Trump is kinda stupid, really. Liberal is what the Canadian are and what tey choose.
Electricity!!
Spain, which is now running 100% on Renewables, has spent the past 24 hours in the dark.
Big power outage causes much of Spain to shut down
This sort of thing seldom happened when they were burning Fossil fuels and even when it did it was localized, not country-wide blackouts
Here in the Midwest: it is Orange Barrel season….May through the end of October…..
The attempt to set Bird Flu as the new reason for a Pandemic…
If you didn’t learn to prep during the pandemic, you aren’t gonna bother for the Bird Flu either.
The media message is growing in intensity..
At the end of it, this will be a s stupid as the Covid Panic though. I do, however, expect some people to use it for gain, just like Covid…
Plan accordingly.
That the illegal immigrant we want to deport could be the next inventor of something great, or the next scientist that discovers a cure for whatever, or the next great statesman …
I ask why the United States should get all the good people….Let them do that from whatever shithole country they left. Let them make their birth country great. We are already great…we should share the greatness.
So far though, all I see these third world countries exporting is crime, dependency, and illegal voting for Democrats.
Albertson’s Grocery stores says their suppliers have to eat the tariffs, they can’t pass the cost onto Albertsons (and their customers).
The suppliers are gonna have to eat the cost.
I certainly hope they can make it stick. If Costco and Walmart would do the same, it would greatly increase the pressure on the companies to force their governments to capitulate on tariffs and trade. .
Just to tease us….then….
What with the MU-2 training, some health issues, and just generally being busy.
But Sunday was about as nice a day to fly as it gets.
So with some arrangement with Aaron, we decided to fly and meet him at Mt Pleasant Michigan for dinner and some gambling.
Preflighted, fired up, and picked up a clearance (mistake on my part, I should have gone VFR)…did a runup and took off.
11,000 but not direct…they pushed us east for 40 miles for arriving Chicago airliner traffic. I did consider cancelling and going VFR, but at the end of it, traffic is traffic and we were already out of our desired route…
Then we got direct and flew at 200 knots for about 50 minutes to Mt Pleasant. Did a decent approach and landing on RWY 9 with a 8 knot direct crosswind. (Aaron has a nice photo on his blog)
Taxiied up to the parking, shut down, chocked the wheels and shook hands with Aaron, who had arrived before us.
We went inside called for the shuttle, and chatted and caught up while we waited.
Soon enough the three of us were on the shuttle and then at the casino. Slots for some, craps for Aaron, and I proceeded to lose money at blackjack.
Aaron, however, had a good run.
Too soon, it was time to go. Aaron did spring for dinner since he was the winner that day.
We caught the shuttle beck to KMOP airport, shook hands, preflighted, and fired up the planes.
Aaron followed me out and we taxiied to the end of Rwy 27…the wind was 170 ish at 7 so there was no “better” runway and 27 was my direction of flight.
Made my calls for the CTAF, pulled out onto the runway, then waited for the helicopter to clear the departure area, and took off, rotated at 85 knots and climbed out at 110.
Make my final call as I cleared the airport terminal area, then contacted departure and requested flight following back home at 10,500 ft
It was hazy but VFR all the way back home but we cruised at about 185 knots and in less than an hour we were turning in for an approach and landing. Wind was more or less right down the runway so I did a near-perfect landing and rolled out to the end.
Pulled up to the hangar and opened the doors, got out the tug and parked the 340.
It is always a good day when you can fly to see good friends.1.1 and 1.0 and 2 decent crosswind landings.
