Of course they do….

Seems that Hezbollah now wants a ceasefire.

One would expect that since that is what those kind of people do, and have done for all that I can remember: Lose a fight, ask for a break, rearm, reorganize, reestablish themselves, and then attack again.

Do you think they are gonna change the playbook? I don’t.

Israel should double down and destroy that organization and any “civilians” who support it. (It was an excuse for firebombing Tokyo in WWII ( “there are no civilians, every Japanese is a part of the War effort” ) and it is still valid today.

Why give your enemy time to gather themselves? Beat them and pound them, harry them and hound them and bomb them and shoot them until there is no one left. It’s the best way to ensure peace.

(Of course, I am a great proponent of Disproportionate Response….I find it’s the best way to win a fight….(I believe it was General Curtis LeMay that stated “If you kill enough of them, they stop fighting”). )

The difference in coverage is AMAZING

I guess when the reporters don’t have to go out and actually travel into the hinterlands, but can instead just drive a few hours on roads in good repair, to places where the biggest issue is lack of power and maybe running water they will actually bother to cover the storm damage.

One the one hand we have unprecedented damage from Helene in the hills of North Carolina and Tennessee, and on the other hand we have what is, effectively, “normal” post hurricane damage in Florida from Milton….But one gets covered well and one doesn’t.

Is it laziness? Or is it something else?

Overheard yesterday

at the local diner.

“If only the federal government would hand out free meals, free hotel room vouchers  and $2000 debit cards to the Helene victims like they do illegals”

At this point I expect them to lie

When the Media states that something that Trump or any other Conservative says

“The False Claim that…….”   I give the story full credence….assume that the statement that is being “debunked” is true.

Cats and dogs and Hattians, Voter Fraud, Failure of FEMA to react well to the devastation(as well as their spending money allocated to them for disaster relief on “Migrants”)…..All “False Narratives”

“Who you gonna believe? Me or your lyin’ eyes? ”

From the FEMA website before it got scrubbed:

Wednesday words of Wisdom (5)

“Die with memories, not dreams”

“To see the right, and not do it, is cowardice”

“Life is not fair, but it beats the alternative”

“No one ever got tired of loving, they get tired of waiting, tired of lies, tired of assuming the other is truly sorry, and tired of hurting”

“If you can’t acknowledge your mistakes, you will never learn from them or change your behavior”

Pet peeve:

I really wish that the meteorologists and reporters would learn what a “Flash Flood” is,

There is no “Flash Flooding” in the panhandle of Florida….Flooding? Yes. Lots of that. But Flash Floods are a totally different thing. It takes elevation and large areas that gather water and concentrate it which then runs downhill rapidly, leaving a wall of water that inundates things in it’s path. There is no geography like that in Florida. “Flash Floods” simply can’t happen there. Floods there don’t grow at a rate of tens of feet in minutes. They happen (relatively) slowly. Flooding? yeah, Florida has a lot of that…But even storm surge doesn’t happen that quickly.

“Flooding” is not “Flash Flooding”. If you’ve ever experienced a Flash Flood, you’d know the difference.

I know they think it is more dramatic to say “Flash Flood” but that is really untrue.

I feel for the people in Florida

I mean, on the one hand, y’all choose to live there, on the other hand, Armageddon is barreling down upon you.

I think that if you haven’t evacuated, you had better be a hardy person with good preps and a hardened shelter. But if you are staying, my hat is off to you.

Good luck, whether you are staying, going, or have gone. I hope you homes and possessions are there when you return.
