I kept my mouth shut and I didn’t get hassled by the TSA, and I didn’t get arrested at OHare airport.
But Jesus, what security theater.
Not gonna say what I could have (or may have?) gotten past the TSA. Nope. They were, however, vigilant in looking for the razor blade that wasn’t in my safety razor handle (I mailed one ahead).
But their security really sucks.
As I said: Security theater.
Yeah, you got the used lumberjack boots…evenly worn jeans, and the L.L.Bean flannel shirt.
Nice beard too.
But your office worker-soft hands betray you to anyone who cares to look.
Real workers boots aren’t evenly distressed, their jeans are worn at the pockets, and the knees, not evenly all over. And an unworn LLBean flannel tops it, bro. You are only fooling yourself…and maybe others like you. .
I should be embarked on a Super Secret mission, at a somewhat secret location.

When I was a young lad, there was a sign that said:
“Get US out of the UN” .
And then an address for the John Birch Society. One time I wrote that information down as we passed by….
I did a bit of research, and found out a LOT about the UN. It wasn’t pretty then….and it is even less pretty now. They were on the edge of irrelevant 45 years ago…
Fast Forward to today, when I read that the UN had decided that Israel is the top Human Rights Violator,,,,And the top violator of the rights of women….and a whole slew of other denunciations against Israel.

Add in the total mismanagement of the UN’s peacekeeping, it’s inability to respond to any aggressions, or any natural or other disaster, the fact that they constantly whine for funding, but have money for sculptures and other useless but symbolic things and I can’t help but wonder why, exactly, the US is a part of the UN any more?
And why do we allow the UN to take up all that space in New York? They could go to Brussels and take up space in the now useless NATO headquarters……Yeah, that NATO, the one where most of the member countries have spend so much on socialist programs that they cannot field any military (see Germany and France and Belgium for examples) and are depending (again) on the US to provide the teeth while exerting (partial) control over our military.
Really, the US should give up on such organizations. They are divorced from reality, and simply waste money employing (and entertaining_ a bunch of liberals whose effectiveness is, essentially, zero.

Feds reinstate “Equitable Sharing”
This means that local and county and State cops and departments can easily resume confiscating cash from anyone who is pulled over and searched…..and it becomes a FEDERAL case,….But they get as much as 70% of the stolen property.
It is known as Civil Asset Forfeiture. THe cops can take your money or property and you have to prove where it came from….Not that they have to prove that it is ill gotten gains. You are, in essence guilty until proven innocent. ANd to prove your innocence, you get to go up against a Federal Prosecutor.
This, in the days of old, was known as Highway Robbery.
