These folks should have been sacrificed to Darwin. With apologies because we didn’t care enough to send out very best, but rather the losers and castoffs of our society.

Losers. No survival skills. None. Can’t even follow the basic drainage to a stream, and thence to a road. Can’t be bothered to carry even a lighter for a firestarter. Can’t be bothered to do anything to ensure their survival.

But they did think about eating their dog after a few days. Better they should have sacrificed themselves to feed the dog.

I bet that these folks will not offer to pay for the fuel and other expenses that all those volunteers used to search for them. Bet that other than a generic “thank you all” they don’t bother to find and thank everyone who took time and effort to search for them.

Further, I’d bet that they haven’t learned to carry basic survival supplies, nor will they bother to map their path next time. (GPS units are so cheap these days, you’d think that if they had no survival skills, they’d at least have one of those).

And I found it interesting that the searchers tracked them for a while using the trail of their discards….Pepsi cans, clothing, and their mushroom buckets. They obviously have a lot of respect for Nature.

You thought that you were getting a break on your payroll taxes….and you were.

But to make up for it, they are taxing new mortgages. About $8 per month for the average mortgage.

They didn’t cut the taxes, they shifted them to homeowners. And fucked them hard in the process…(and they didn’t buy them dinner first…not even a drink.)

So if you are an average person, making $50k per year, you saved about 170 dollars on the 2 month break on payroll taxes….but if you refinance your home to take advantage of the current lower interest rates, the feds are gonna take about $200 a year for the life of the loan. yep, they saved you a few months higher taxes, and jammed you with a different tax…for 15 or 30 years.

Remember this when you vote. It matters not what letter is behind that name. The D or R no longer means anything. They are all bad…some are worse, but all are bad. One wonders why the politicians are suprised that the citizens hold them in contempt.

The worst part is that the News Media is choosing NOT to report this, generally.

I do know that a lot of people would be hurt, and many more would likely starve before FEMA got it’s shit together.

I get tired of hearing the argument that the founding fathers wished for the “separation of church and state”. 

This phrase never appears in the Constitution, nor in the Declaration, nor even in the Federalist Papers.

Not even once. Despite what people parrot, it is not used in any of these documents… It is inferred in the First Amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” but that phrase “separation”is not used, and the First is not meant for that. It says clearly what it says. Nor does Article 6 say anything about the “separation of church and state”, but rather that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to hold any office or public trust…” Not quite the same thing as “separation of church and state”.

Even the courts do not always agree that the phrase by Jefferson has anything to do with, or may be substituted for the First Amendment.

Those who use the phrase “separation of church and state” are misquoting Thomas Jefferson, and are demonstrating their ignorance. Parroting a phrase that hey heard from someone else, with no knowledge of where it came from, the context in which it was used, or what was meant by it.

Don’t believe me? Look it up yourself. I’m not gonna bother to give you a link.

But stop using the phrase where it doesn’t belong, and stop saying that it is in any of the documents that founded this country, or that that phrase has anything to do with the rules that govern our country.

We know this, because Obama said so.
