People want their votes to count

No matter what their race or religion.

One week until Election Day, voters demand tougher security at the ballot box: New poll shows more than 8 in 10 Americans support photo voter ID laws and majority want more guardrails on mail-in voting

Despite what the DNC and the Media (but I repeat myself) tell us, everyone wants clean elections: “At least three quarters of white, black, Hispanic and Asian Americans agreed that some form of photo identification should be required to cast a ballot, according to the survey by CRC Research and the 85 Fund

No worries about minority voters being “Disenfranchised” or otherwise being prevented from voting. They don’t believe the DNC lies about that either…

So we can hope that this will reduce the Margin of Cheat to some extent..

Split another half-rick of wood today…

Put on the new hydraulic hose….($35 dollars BUT a half hour each way to get to a place that was competent to make the damned hose) and got to work…

The splitter is not cooperating

Probably rebelling due to neglect…..

The new carb needed some adjusting to take a load, which I fixed with a screwdriver in a few minutes.

hen the damned thing started dying under load, so I put the adjustments back….no joy.

Then it didn’t wanna start again at all.

Back to basics.

Has spark, has compression, is getting air….Aaannd the fuel filter is plugged with rust. Blew it out (I only have one more on the shelf as the auto parts store is backordered, so I guess  I’m gonna have to go online) and put the carb adjustments back to where I had moved ’em. Gonna have to dismount and clean the tank, I guess. Now it runs well.

My fault, I (stupidly) let it sit uncovered all last winter. I am paying the price now. Laziness comes back to bite you every time. I’d kick myself for that but that would likely make me pull a muscle and all that so just onward and upward…..

If the firewood  I had was oak, I’d just use a wedge and sledge or an axe, but the hickory is just a bit tougher to split by hand.

Been doing it for Years

Much like the Hunter Biden stories and misdeeds and crimes (and Joe Biden’s also) the Media has been deliberately not reporting on politicians and their actions that they feel they need to hide….

See this Daily Mail extract about the late, (mostly unlamented) Ted Kennedy and the coverups (plural) that the Media did for him over the years.

They have been hiding the deeds of their “approved” politicians longer than I have been alive.

The Internet has just made it harder for them to hide all of it. But it continues to this day…..and they don’t even try to hide their actions any more.

Y’know…

I find it strange that the Pelosi’s did not have ANY security at their home. No guards, nothing. Especially what with her words about her fears of “Right Wing MAGA Terrorists” one would have thought that there would have been some attempt to cover the house and property….

The cost to have a couple of armed guards would be a rounding error at their income level.

Strange, innit? I’d bet that nearly all their neighbors have some sort of security. Nearly anyone else at that level of income has someone providing security.

ETA: And I’m not the only one asking questions. (and the one about how he got there without a car is a good one)

’tis almost amusing

Watching the Democrat defenders dance all around the memes and questions of Paul Pelosi’s relationship (maybe) with his attacker…

“The cries of how “hateful” they are and such. The over-the-top condemnations of the questions makes me wonder though…

Hey, assholes, you and the Media set the standard of behavior…Funny how much that shoe pinches innit?

(although despite the denials it looks a lot like there is a LOT more to the story than they are letting out)

((ETA 8:22 PM central): Ferinstance, these are some good questions. One might wonder how much is being downplayed.)

Having said that, I wish Mr Pelosi a quick recovery.

ETA: The Evening News is telling us that the perpetrator “Espoused Right wing philosophy” without giving or showing any examples….which probably means that there are no examples and they are trying to tie a whacko (or a gay tryst) to something Right Wing to deflect….I mean, if thre was something they could point to we’d surely have had it shoved in our faces by now.

interesting timing….?

Accidentally came across the CBS show 60 minutes…which is defending the viewpoint that there was no fraud in the 2020 elections. A very very carefully worded statement telling us that there was no fraud…..

One wonders, really, if it is truly a closed case, why, two years later, are they STILL denying that there was any fraud. Who are they trying to convince?

It looks like the Big Lie gambit.

We’ve been hearing for 2 years that there was no fraud. The Media (which has been shown to propagandize for the Democrats lean DNC) has told us for all that time that there was no fraud and that anyone that says otherwise is a deluded “election Denier”.

Why do they need to keep saying that? Why keep repeating it?

Things happen slower in the pattern

In a 172 vs a 340. In fact, in all phases of flight.

90 knots vs 160+….75-120 in the pattern.

I rented a 172 for a bit this morning. I gotta admit that I was a bit heavy handed at first, but it was fun to get back in the air. First landing was less than perfect, the other two were greasers. Practice practice and all that.

I was gonna go to Champaign and get a burrito, but the clouds were moving in and the forecast was unclear.

The aircraft I was able to rent was IFR capable, but the databases had not been updated and the G-1000 panel is totally worn out. Not all the buttons work all the time and frankly, because of that, the panel is a piece of shit. Plus the rudimentary autopilot isn’t reliable. Such is the state of rental aircraft in NW Indiana. Worn out crap. No ADSB–In either. If I’m gonna rent much I’m gonna have to get a Sentry or other ADSB-In device.

So I just flew around and practiced hand flying. Did 3 landings, one practice approach (doesn’t count since I had no safety pilot) and just generally aviated.

The fields are about half harvested.
