That the vulnerability of transformer yards to high velocity kinetic damage has been discussed in some forums for many years. The North Carolina vandalism was not the first, nor even the first this year.…Why are the media telling us about this one and none of the others? My understanding is that vandalism like this happens quite often.

20 years ago folks were discussing just this sort of vandalism and it’s effects in online forums…..It was precisely discussions like that that made me leave those forums. I was always wondering who was a Fed, and I had no interest in making the lights go out…..But some folks did. I had better things to do and more important stuff to worry about.

The vulnerabilities were discussed online, and really, no-one was able to come up with a counter…..Let the cooling oil out via a bullet hole and they stop working. Pretty much that simple. If the utilities see the overheat and shut them down early, then the damage is small, if not then the damage is much worse. Either way the lights go out.

Apparently some of the folks that talked about that sort of thing in forums have decided to act. Or their kids maybe.

Either way, the vulnerabilities have been known and talked about for at least 20 years.

That Biden and his team could find a way to free Britney Griner, but could not find the time to free Paul Whelan from his captivity in Russia.

Ms Griner has never hesitated to tell the rest of the world about how much in contempt she holds the US, she has never, as far as I know, actually served her country. Mr. Whelan has served his country.

But the priorities of the Biden Administration have always been a source of anger for me.

I mean, I signed up for a flight with Allegiant airlines. Cheap and from an airport that is convenient at both ends of the trip…

In less than 12 hours I got 11 emails telling me all about the great deals that were waiting for me. Not about the flight I already had, but new deals waiting for me.

This will likely affect my use of Allegiant in the future. I was a customer already. Now I probably won’t be again. The marketing department apparently thinks that “annoy our new customer until they get angry” is a good strategy to generate more business.

Is this really a viable marketing strategy? Or does it make people (like me) just ignore and unsubscribe?  It’s not like one a month, it is 10 in half a DAY.

Restaurant decides not to serve conservative Christian group because they made the staff feel “Uncomfortable”.

Yet when a gay group makes people feel uncomfortable, they MUST serve them….Gotta bake the cake and gotta allow them to do their drag shows. right?

Funny, those double standards, innit? But that is the hypocrisy of the Left in a nutshell. Some discrimination is ok, but not if it is an approved group

I would think that the Family Foundation and it’s members would have a juicy lawsuit.

If I were a liberal, like, say, Ms Misfit, The headline would be full of hyperbole:

But what it really is is that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is taking a long hard look at how the suggested robots could be employed. They were never gonna carry rifles into combat with bank robbers,…..

But since most liberals (and a LOT of Conservatives) only read the headline, the Hyperbole becomes the belief.

I can see where having a robot with a basketful of Flash-Bang stun grenades could be a useful tool and an ideal alternative to cops busting down a door…..or in a hostage situation. I can also envision many circumstances where the police could easily misuse such devices. Boys like to use their toys, after all.

But their concern is like soccer players falling when looked at hard…..a lot of acting…. nothing else.

He’s not wrong. If there aren’t gonna be rules, then it is a street fight. Either there are rules or there aren’t.

At no point did I see in this a call to end the Constitution.

What the Left is telling you about this is a lie.

My ass is kicked.

I am seldom sick for more than 24 hours. Flu, Cold, etc. (even Covid). If I exceed 24 hours of symptoms it is an anomaly. 48 has happened only once that I cam remember in the past 10 years.

Until Wednesday. That was the start…. around 5 PM…. Wed evening was pretty bad, Wed night was miserable. So was all day Thursday. I did not go to the range on Thursday, as I could see no reason to share this blessing with my fellow range members….

Today is Saturday. I still feel crappy. Joint aches, fever, slight congestion, But the cramps in my back!

Thursday I was running a 101 temp. Now, my “normal” temp is 96.5 – 97. So a 101 is HUGE. And I checked it with two different thermometers. Scared me enough that I called a friend and asked her to check on me via phone in the morning. I never run that hot.

SO today, with Ibuprofen, I feel ok,  But a 2 week old kitten could likely kick my ass.

Thing is, I just have no experience being “sick” for more than a day.

I have been informed that most (nearly all) spices are sterilized by radiation before being packaged into consumer sized pack ages.

The exception if :Certified Organic”. which is not sterilized.

It is possible that the bottle of Chipotle that I use (that had “additional protean”) was left over from a girlfriend that no longer spends any time at my home….and she was really big into “Organic” and such.

This might explain why the bugs were able to hatch in the chipotle. Apparently it is not uncommon in “organic” products that don’t use that nasty radiation to sterilize the spices from the eggs of the critters.
