Why do businesses

Once you do business with them via the Internet feel that this gives them to right to blow up your inbox with promotional emails for a product that I JUST BOUGHT?

I mean, yes, I am sure that somewhere I missed that (already) checked box that said “please, send me 42 emails about your product THIS WEEK, even though I am doing business with you for the first time  (and now the last).

Yes, I wanted those 42 emails, even though I got along fine without them last week….And I am SURE that I selected that box, not that it was prechecked to turn on the flood of endless emails…

And yes, it is because of that that I will shop your competitors next time. They might not be any better at screwing with me by blowing up my inbox without my permission….But I bet one of them won’t take 4 pages to unsubscribe from their emails either.

The Tyranny of the State

Charlie Gard:

Yeah, you probably know the name. A young male child, not yet a year old. One who has a likely incurable genetic disease. A child in the care of the State….Socialized Medicine.

A child who has been handed a death sentence by that same State. The State will no longer pay for his medical care.

On the one hand, this is likely a good decision. Under State care, Charlie will never get better. They have no way to heal him, no way to improve his condition. Likely no one does. The State has chosen not to spend more money trying to save a child they know they cannot save.

That isn’t the point.

The point is that the parents haven’t given up, and have raised through donations enough money to take their child elsewhere to try other possible treatments. And, if they can do so without cost to the State, they have the right to do so.

Failing that, the parents want their child to die at home, not in a hospital. They have been denied that measure of control as well. The State Knows Better.

However, the State has decided that they cannot do that. That they cannot have their child back, that the parents do not have control over the fate of their child. That the State has chosen Charlie’s fate, and the State, with people who (supposedly) know better and who have no interest other than financial can make the decision for the child. They wouldn’t allow any transport to other countries for possible experimental treatment that might (maybe, but probably not) save this child. They cannot allow anyone to know that their medical science is inferior to any others, and they must maintain that the STATE is all powerful and has ultimate control over the fate of a child once entrusted to their care.

Their decision is likely the logical one. Desperate measure seldom succeed. But there is no cost to the State for the attempt to save young Charlie Gard’s life. no risk for the State, no cost, nothing. Nothing but loss of prestige, and loss of control.

Thus they condemn a dying child to the trash heap.

This only works in a place where the People are disarmed, however. They can do this because the People have no recourse….no way to oppose the State.

If ever there was a reason to oppose Big Government, this is one.

Independence Day

It ain’t the “4TH of July.”…It is INDEPENDENCE Day.

The day the New nation declared that it was a Nation, and no longer under the control of the King. Not just a new nation, but a new TYPE of nation, under new principles, under new rules….Thus was born the United States of America. A country like no other.

Remember the reason for the fireworks and the celebration and the cookouts and the day off work. Remember WHY we have all of those on this day.

And say a prayer of thanks for the document that they later produced which made this nation the greatest place on earth. And a thank you to whomever you pray to that you live here (if you do), as free as any place on this planet.

Now go enjoy your hot dogs and fireworks.

So it would appear

That Illinois’s time has come….or at least the beginning of it.

They’v finally run out of “Other People’s Money”.

Illinois Must start paying Medicaid bills. Additional $239,000,000.00 each month PLUS an additional BILLION in the next year.

And they don’t have the cash.

They haven’t had a budget in 3 or 4 years. (How can a state operate without a budget?….Oh yeah , when it is run by Democrats) ETA: Even NEW JERSEY has to have a budget or the State shuts down. How does Illinois operate?

If I had a pension from the State of Illinois or a subsidiary,  I’d be worried.

Double standards….

So the Left, in an obviously planned campaign (gleefully pushed by the Media), has accused Trump of poor taste and bad rhetoric and simply not making twitter comments in good taste.

Perhaps true. He could take the High Road a bit more often.

But a bit of the “Pot calling the kettle” and all that innit?

The rhetoric from the Left, since well before November, has been rude, cheap shitty, disrespectful and just plain cheap shots.

But, as usual, the Left holds their opponents to a higher standard than they do themselves. Perhaps they could learn from the unsolicited advice they have given him.

It is as we expected:

Made up, Democrat and DNC operative and Press (but I repeat myself) bullshit designed to harm Trump and boost ratings.

Which I would just write off as “politics as usual” except for the fact that Robert Mueller is gonna spend MILLION if not Tens of MILLIONS of your tax dollars looking for something to satisfy his masters…some kind of charge they can level against Donald Trump of his appointees. I object, not to the dirt digging (I actually approve of that!) but to the character assassination and to the fact that it is PUBLIC FUNDS tat are paying for it.

And the sad part is that all the liberals, even the formerly (somewhat) rational ones are frothing at the mouth for someone to find something on Trump….no objection to a Special Counsel who has nothing to point to to start his investigation except some meme put forth a few days post-Hillary defeat by the DNC to explain their terrible loss….Which the Media jumped on and repeated enough that it took on a (artificial) life of it’s own…..

Again: I don’t object to an investigation of the accusations. I DO object to the fact that the accusations are made up from Whole Cloth and that the U.S. Taxpayers are paying for it. Let the Media do its job, and find some (real) dirt that can be proved.

They oughta impeach

Each and every single judge that stayed Trump’s Travel Ban. Each and every one of them. The ban was legal, Constitutional, and well within the powers of the President to enact.

The Supremes said so.

Any and all of the Judges in the Circuit courts, by their actions, have shown that they are not able to be dispassionate nor apolitical, but rather are partisan hacks. Which disqualifies them from, you know, actually adjudicating according to law.
