Have ya noticed?

I mean, I see Trump 2024 flags, stickers and other paraphernalia ALL OVER the place. Lots of cars and homes have one or the other. I saw it when I was in Texas, I even see ’em in Chicago…

Yet, oddly, despite him having “gotten more votes than any other President in History“, I have yet to see anywhere a car or lawn sporting a “Biden 2024”. sticker, flag or other such device on any cars, on any houses, or anywhere.

Odd, that.

Where did all those Biden supporters go?

“If you strike at the king, Do not miss, Kill him”

Apparently a failed Coup. (sorry, Aesop)

Yevgengy Prigozhin is exiled to Belarus, but I would bet his life expectancy is much shorter today than it was 2 days ago.

Putin will have him killed, perhaps secretly, perhaps blatantly. (as Tam points out, having to wear gloves before touching most doorknob, checking for Polonium and other precautions for the rest of your life would suck,,,)

Either way, once he sent his troops towards Moscow, he had but one real choice: successfully depose Putin …..or face death.

I think he chose poorly.

On the other hand, if he survives for a few months, then the “coup” attempt must have been a sham to boost Putin’s image in the eyes of the Russian people.

Question:

Who pays for all the costs of the “Rescue Mission: that was mounted for the Titan submersible?

Seems to me that the company should pay for those costs.

But I don’t know who, if anyone, will pay.

How reporters twist things

So CBS is reporting on things one year after the Supreme Court struck down Roe V Wade..

Now I’m not gonna get into the politics of the decision…But I think it was a good legal decision….States can make their own decisions.

Having said that, I gota say that there is one thing I noticed about the story:

The CBS reporter kept using the phrase “Constitutional Right to an Abortion”…

Odd, that. I’ve read the Constitution Cover to Cover many times. I never saw any part of the Constitution that could in any way be construed to, or even twisted into, a right to abortion.

But I guess they believe that if they say it often enough, people will believe it.

Well, that was …interesting.

So I tend to carry my cell phone in my back pocket. Which is ok, until I fell backwards and landed on it. Left the phone with a noticeable bend in it along the top-to-bottom (longest) axis….

Besides my sore buttock, it didn’t seem to be a big deal.

Until I called a friend an hour or so later and during the call the phone grew REALLY hot…rapidly enough that it went from room temp(ish) to well over 150 degrees in about a second. (150F seems to be my “drop it” temp for whatever I am holding)… I did indeed drop it on the kitchen floor and it continued to get hotter…until it started to smoke.. Thinking I had damaged the battery, and having heard many horror stories of Lithium-Ion battery runaway fires, I quickly got an oven mitt and tossed it outside…..Where it sat and cooled down. The phone was DOA (at least the screen, touchscreen, and such….Oddly it did work via the Bluetooth connection in the car when I took it to the Verizon store…

Anyway, it was replaced the next day….of course the backup for the contacts was corrupted, so there may or may not be a complete restore….Had to do the restore manually because the entire automated backup/restore thing is predicated on both the old phone and the new phone having full working parts…like the screen on the old phone and the camera on the new one so they can synch…which fails when the screen on the old phone is dark. Having to call to do a setup and getting a poorly trained “support”  person did not help either.

I must say that for the 17 hours that I had no phone it was kinda peaceful though.

Not “Adventurers”….Tourists is a better word

Nearly every news report I have heard is calling the 5 men dead in the Titan Submersible accident “adventurers” and “explorers”.  They were neither. They were tourists.

Adventurers and explorers forge new paths, break new trails, find new ways to places where mankind has not been before.

Tourists are driven, flown or otherwise transported to a place for sightseeing.

Calling these men “adventurers” is like calling someone who helicoptered to the peak of Mt Everest (yes, I know, too high) for photos an “adventurer”….They were Tourists. Paid big money for a ride into the deep.

That they chose a shady company for their ride to the depths is sad, but they weren’t “Brave Adventurers”….they were tourists and sightseers.

If any of you think that Gay people are just misunderstood

I strongly suggest that you go an attend the Chicago Pride parade this weekend……walk around during and afterward. Go a block or two on ether side of the parade route. Look into the alley and behind fences.

Watch the acts taking place. In public. In the alley and behind trash cans ad such.

Then tell yourself that these people are the same as the rest of us. That their lifestyle is “Normal”.

8.3 MILLION dollars in Tax Fraud

Yet Hunter gets a plea agreement for a misdemeanor.

8.3 MILLION dollars in income that he did not claim. What would happen if you or I had done so?

Let’s not even bother to discuss the dismissed charge of lying on a 4473 Firearms form.

Plus there is this:  “DOJ sought to ‘delay the investigation long enough to reach the statute of limitations’ and ‘divulged sensitive actions by the investigative team to Biden’s attorneys.”

The shit just gets deeper and deeper in this case, doesn’t it?
