If this had been a real thing, they’d have been tacked by the guards immediately.

But nope, this was prearranged, so the guards just stood there and let it happen.

Of course, if you or I had seen it start, and tacked them or restrained them or otherwise stopped them, we’d be jailed for violence or such.

I’m thinking had I been there they’d still be coughing up whatever the red powder was. They’d have breathed it for a while until the cops made me let them go.

That document and what it stands for is pretty precious to me.

‘Cause they are all, apparently scrambling to get their act in order and find that 2% GDP spending on defense that is mandated to be a part of NATO….

(Of course, spending that for defense doesn’t mean that they actually have to have, you know an army…they just currently have to spend it on “Defense”…..I foresee a LOT of graft happening in places like Germany and France and other European countries….Inflated prices, monies spent on Training Classes” etc…Probably less than suggested on things like actual working hardware and the folks that operate and maintain them…..but we shall see…..Lots of room for graft)

I think the best line, however is this: “Stoltenberg said any suggestions that allies won’t defend each other ‘undermines all of our security’ and puts US and European soldiers at greater risk.” 

Yet, when places like Germany can’t even field a single squadron of fighters, or a platoon of tanks…and therefore CAN’T defend anyone, not even themselves., aren’t they also undermining the security and putting all soldiers at risk? 

Germany, especially, has no excuse. The monies brought into their economy by the US bases MORE than covers the 2% defense contribution.

Lets face it….the whole NATO idea lets western Europe hide behind the skirts of the USA…but if they won’t even pretend to do their part, why should the US bother?

Little real funding for border security. Lots of money for helping illegal border crossers once they are here. None for STOPPING them.

But more and more I find myself thinking that we, the USA, need to distance ourselves from the United Nations……Stop participating, stop funding then, and give them 1 year to find another place (in another country) to call their headquarters.

The US is the top funder for the UN, and they have their dirty fingers in so many disgusting places and terrorist activities in the world.

Make ’em stop using our funds for such things.

There are more Customs and Border patrol assets, (Helicopters, Vehicles, and personnel) at the SuperBowl for security currently than there are assigned to the border between Texas and Mexico from Del Rio to El Paso right now….and more than there has ever been in that area at any moment in 2024 so far.

Just let than thought sink in for a moment.

Plus, of course, think about the fact that the salaries and operating costs of those assets are funded by the US government, not the private venue that is hosting the SuperBowl.

Ask yourself why that it also….. there are not enough assets or money for border security but there are assets for the SuperBowl…..

The doc said OK to fly, but not too much. No other exercises for at least another 2 weeks (No CORE stuff, just walking and such). But flying is ok “As long as I don’t over do it” …..But “Overdo” is undefined. so a short trip of 1.1 hours out and 0.8 back.

2 landings…one perfectly on center, good but not as soft and smooth as I like ’em. and one that was smooth as silk but a bit off centerline.

The cruise down was smooth and beautiful though. Broken clouds at 4000 ish feet and clear above. Overcast about 18,000 above that.

Icing on the climb out, but only for a few minutes. We finally got the Cylinder #4 cooling issue solved.

1500 ft per minute with no issues (except costly fuel flow…..) at 140 knots on the climb.

I wasn’t going far enough to make a climb any higher worthwhile, but I think that climb rate should be sustainable until FL22 or so. But cruise at 70% power was 197 knots.

I am thinking we got it dialed in .

A study shows that it is likely that the 2020 election would have turned out much differently had the abuse of Mail in Ballots not happened. 

(I know, right, who would have thought?)

At the end of it though, there’s no sense in getting all excited about it. Nothing we can do about the past , we can only go forward and make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

If we keep on in the past, then we are no better than the folks with Trump Derangement, really. Can’t fix the past, so just go forward with the lesson and move on.

We could, however hang those responsible for the fraud, but that’s a different discussion…..
