slo joe wants to up the pell grant per the sotu address. that only raises the tuition. ask me how i know. back in my day the pell went up but they added my parents income to mine even though i lived independently for 5 years prior. had to get yet another part time job, in addition to my reserves and campus security and construction jobs. had to take a loan for the last couple semesters so i could keep up my grades. took me 10 years to pay it. pissed me the hell off hearing chick behind me in line telling her pal how she borrowed enough to lease a bmw and take a trip and wasn’t planning on paying it back. they need to abolish the loans.
