Not so terribly “green” after all….

It’s what engineers and anyone who can do the math have been telling folks for years:

Data shows PHEVs emit just 19% less CO2 than petrol and diesel cars, an analysis by the non-profit advocacy group Transport and Environment found on Thursday. Under laboratory tests, they were assumed to be 75% less polluting.

When they look closely (and correctly) at Battery powered cars, they are gonna find that they aren’t as “green” as people think either.

S0 the reportage on the “No Kingz” rally in the greater Chicago area was …interesting….

The media (at least ABCNBCBS) was sympathetic to the cause (whatever the actual cause was) and the wanted to report things in positive terms….but they also, apparently had to have some integrity…They did their best to straddle the line:

“According to the organizers, attendance was 200,000 at Grant Park “.

(Overhead photos show maybe 8-10,000)…I doubt you could get 200,000 people in Grant Park.

But they got to say “200,000 protesters”.

I am still wondering what, exactly was the point of the protest.

Probably the best way

To keep your country from being taken over by muslims:

Portugal’s parliament has approved a bill banning face veils worn for ‘gender or religious’ reasons in public, and people who wear them could face a hefty fine.

Couldn’t do it in the US though, It would be totally un-constitutional, and I would oppose it here for that reason.

Still, I can understand. Why allow the third world to take over your country and plunder a way of life that has been there for a long time and that works well for the inhabitants? If these people really wanted to they could fix their own shithole countries (that they fled from) rather than invading Portugal and other countries to make another shithole country like what they fled from.

It isn’t like Muslim invasions have ever helped a country be better or improved the lives of the citizens already there, after all.

question:

Since ICE got to shoot pepper balls at people legally walking (and protesting) on the sidewalk outside of their faculty in Broadview Illinois and got away with that act of assault….

Can I or others go to the “No Kings” protests and do the same with paintballs, pepper balls, or (just sayin’) bb guns?

How about water balloons or spray paint?

Can we assault people on the street peacefully protesting and get away with it? ? Just because?

“Asking for a friend” and such…..

(and no, I won’t be doing that, I (and some others, one of whom is a county deputy, so I will have an alibi) will be helping an old man with his tractor repairs most of Saturday.)

Still, however, it is a question worth asking. Equal protection under the law and all that.

Bureaucracy at it’s finest

Yes, that is the best outcome for the animal….’cause euthanasia is better than being cared for in a facility designed for them….

lawmakers called on Governor Gretchen Whitmer to stop the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) from euthanizing two animals that could not be released into the wild: Peanut the fawn and a coyote named Kota.

Wildlife unable to survive on their own must either be transferred to an approved educational facility or euthanized under state law.

The department claimed that the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG), a non-profit no-kill sanctuary caring for Peanut, missed a paperwork deadline and can no longer keep the animal in human care

We all know that having the proper paperwork is the only thing keeping chaos at bay and without it things just can’t happen.

If ever there were an example of “Government workers who need to be fired because they miss the point of their job” this is one of them.

Someone explain to me….

Why SHOULD furloughed workers get paid for the time that they didn’t work?  (yes, I know it is the law, but WHY is it a law? )

Laid off private sector workers don’t (generally) get back pay for the days that they were laid off. Why should government workers?

Personally, again, if your job is so non critical that you can be furloughed and no one notices or cares then you shouldn’t have a job. If your job is not listed as an “Essential” job, then do we really need you?
