Here are a few photos….and a movie.

It runs, and actually runs well. Still getting all the rust out of the fuel system, so it has modern fuel filters in the fuel lines, and the hood is sitting on the roof, as I am still working in the engine bay.

But, it runs, drives, stops…has oil pressure and the radiator holds water. the charging system works….much better than when it arrived a few years ago.

The paint is rough, but the body and frame are solid, and the wooden wheels seem to be pretty tight. The windows are not perfect, but much better than one might expect for a car that is 94 years old.  I need to find a key for the switch, if I can, and (thanks to commenter “Grog”) now I have the wiring diagram on the way, so soon, it will have lights and be  be road worthy.

Yeah, that’s the number of folks shot (and killed) in the South and West sides of Chicago.

Few were melanin deficient.

There is a pattern.

So the 1927 Chrysler model 50(58) runs, drives, shifts, has (sorta) brakes, pumps it’s own fuel and charges it’s battery.

So far Dad has has driven it about 3 miles, and has gotten up to 23 MPH. (limited by the parking lot that is convenient to where it is being worked on….)

But it work! Runs and drives! Holds water in the radiator!

It is a GOOD THING that I put small inline fuel filters in between the tank and the (never to be sufficiently damned) vacuum fuel pump, and between the fuel pump and the carburetor….the amount of crud that they have collected is impressive.

Now the fun part….making the lights work without a wiring diagram or a key for the electrical (ignition) switch….

This is because the “Woke” folks are shortsighted,  childish, and can’t think beyond the current meme of the day.

It’s funny how the Brits, and the French, and nearly every other country with a military presence in Afghanistan can find a way to get to and rescue their citizens in the country (and this pisses the US forces off), despite having gotten little or no notice from the US about the timing of the failure collapse.

And yet we have General Miley (while wearing Ranger tabs) telling us he isn’t sure that the US can secure the airport? (isn’t that an excellent mission tailor made for the Rangers? ) and that people in the country are on their own?

This is a failure by the US on many levels….

Now, make no mistake: If you were an American working  in Afghanistan, or a citizen of Afghanistan who worked with the US, and you had not gotten out or at least made plans to get out quickly once Biden was elected, then you are a fool. I mean, even Trump had promised to pull out of the country if he were re-elected…..So some of this is on you. Yeah, you might have expected more warning, but really, this is on you if you are stuck in the country.

Seems that Barry Obama’s party has led to the health care facility on Martha’s island being “overwhelmed” ….and infections are up 179 percent….and the hospital is “Bursting at the seams” and At Capacity… due to the fact that all the guests failed to wear masks or Social Distance like they keep telling everyone else to do..

Of course, those are the statistics….the reality is that there have been 94 people who tested positive and there are 3 patients in the hospital with Covid and one was airlifted to another facility where that person later passed….but no report on co-morbidites….

Couple of points:

Crime is rising in many urban areas of the country.

Police are making fewer arrests.

Crime in general, and shootings (of black people by black people) are near record highs….and are more public and blatant…

Oddly, this summer, Black men are either smarter about their behavior when stopped by police, or the Media is simply not covering the story when they get shot by police…..of as is most likely, the Media is not hyping the shootings and no one is keeping things worked up on Facebook…likely because the DNC no longer needs to have the Black People riled up so they will vote for the DNC candidate…

And no one will until the DNC needs the black vote next cycle.

In that there is no reason to keep troops in Afghanistan if the Afghani army and people won’t defend their own country.

On the other hand, and more importantly, it appears that if there are 3 mistakes that the Biden folks have not made in this debacle, no one can think of what they are.

Typical Liberal thinking demonstrated here: Wish things would be a certain way and Hope that they happen, without a real plan, or forethought, or any real basis in reality.

This is a sad embarrassment to our country and a devastating betrayal of those Afghanis who worked it and supported the invasion and occupation.

ETA: Having said the above, any Afghani who did not make plans to leave the country, or who has not moved family and assets out of the country starting 6 months ago is a fool. I won’t go so far as to say they deserve what they are getting, but it was obvious that the end result of the US leaving would be bad…..

“Almost everyone who died or had serious complications from Covid after vaccinations has a serious underlying medical condition”.

Strangely, that is true of nearly everyone, “Vaccinated” or not…..Almost everyone who dies or has serious complications has some sort of serious additional health issue.

Odd, the similarities, aren’t they?

I mean, now that the US is out of Afghanistan, one can expect that the Chinese will soon be exerting influence.

Bet on it.

And since Slow Joe and his family are indebted to, and financed by, the ChiComs, I fully expect that not only was the choice to pull out, but also the timing, driven by “suggestions” from the Chinese Party.
