(I chose not to post this until after Thanksgiving was over……)

I mean, if I lie in testimony to a court or in a deposition, am I not committing perjury?

If you read the testimonies in the Mike Brown case, there were quite a few who outright lied….the forensic evidence shows that their testimony was a lie. Some admitted that the “embellished” the parts they witnessed. Others admitted that they weren’t present for much (or any) of the incident.

Now… I have to wonder why no one is (as far as we know) being charged with perjury? Is it just because this is a touchy political and ethnically charged situation?

I mean, some of the testimony accuses Officer Wilson of executing Mr. Brown by shooting him in (depending on the the witness) either in the back as he was running away (with and/or without his hands up) or in the back of the head (one accuser said they witnessed 10 shots!) while he lay on the ground.

I realize that many black people in that neighborhood really hate white people in general (and white COPS specifically)….but this testimony would pout a cop in jail for murder. I realize that the killing of a black 18 year old enrages the black population, and that they would, if they could, lynch the man who did it….for whatever reason. All they see is black and white and cop. They really don’t care why or what the situation that made it happen.

But really, shouldn’t perjury be a crime? Shouldn’t these people be charged with giving a false statement that could, potentially have put Officer Wilson in jail for murder? Shouldn’t they be facing the penalty for perjury? If not, why should anyone ever tell the truth?

It occurs to me that the choices Mike Brown (the “Gentle Giant”) made that fateful day were what led up to his demise.

He chose to steal cigars:

He chose to push the shopkeeper around:

He chose to walk down the middle of the street, attracting attention to himself:

He chose NOT to move to the sidewalk when asked by Officer Darren Wilson:

He chose to fight with Officer Wilson:

He chose to ignore the orders to stop:

He chose to turn around and confront Officer Wilson:

He chose to ignore another order to stop and get on the ground:

Witnesses (credible ones) corroborate the story. 

He made all those decisions. The result was his death. He could have stopped the chain at any time by making better choices.

She will use the donated money to move to another area and start over.

Not do business with the neighborhood that harbors the animals the trashed her bakery…..not give them the service of a good bakery…Not contribute any tax money to the area that failed to properly police it’s citizens and protect the businesses in the area. Certainly not employ anyone in the area.

She should urge all other decent citizens and all the businesses to do the same…

Is that, while there may be other reasons for “White Flight” and separatists and all the other actions people take that are perceived as racist….

The events in Ferguson (both earlier this summer and last night), as compared the fact that they DIDN’T happen in areas where the demographic is, shall we say, different, should be a good  indication as to why decent people of all races move away from areas like Ferguson. They don’t like to live in areas where such things are likely to happen.

In my area (and likely in yours) no one torched any businesses, no one broke windows or looted stores. No one burned or overturned nor broke the windows out of any cars (police or not). No one feared any of those actions might take place, simply because the people who live here (and it is a fairly mixed area) are decent people, rather than the kind of folks who remain in Ferguson after all the others moved out.

Are there racial tensions? Yes, to an extent. But people (of all races) don’t generally get pulled over and treated badly by the police because they don’t look, dress or act like thugs and lowlifes, nor act like criminals.

Are the police perfect? Not at all. Nor are the citizens.

But we aint’t Ferguson style folks, either…..

Nurse Amber Vinson (the one who traveled while running a fever and showing other Ebola symptoms after treating the ebola patient who DIED in Dallas) now wants a refund of her deposit at the Bridal Shop (which was forced to close for decontamination after her visit). 

Were she not female, I’d say that she had a big set of balls to ask that.

That in remembrance of me, my supporters will loot something worthwhile, like a National Guard Armory or a bank or something..at least a Bass Pro Shop or a Cabela’s or a Gander Mountain.

Not something as small and insignificant as a Family Dollar….

‘Cause nothing says “we remember you and will avenge your death!” like looting a Family Dollar store.
