And there ya go:

Apparently, we are now back to ICE doing things in a legal way.

Funny, that.

Just a few days ago, there was nothing holding them back, Now they have to go after people with a  criminal history,  they can’t just demand “Papers” from anyone, and they can’t just attack anyone in their way. Can’t pepperball anyone on the street where they are doing an arrest just because they are there.

More like real Law Enforcement doing things in a constitutional manner. All Lawful like and such.

I guess their overreach finally got ’em leashed

Wisdom Words 69

“You never have to eat the words that you never speak”

“Life is unfair, deal with it…get it done anyway ”

“One day you will wish you had started that task last year”

“Someone will judge you no matter what”

“When you are young, and broke, Money is more valuable than Time….When you are older, and have some wealth, Time is much more valuable than Money”

“Pain is temporary, Pride is forever”

“Other people’s opinions won’t pay your bills”

Looks like Bovino has gone too far

in his rhetoric, and his lies.

Apparently he has been pulled back to his old, lesser position in California. I expect he will quietly retire.

Funny how that works, When you lie to hide what your agents did, and everyone can see it, and you try to exonerate them even before all the facts are in evidence, and in the face of videos that contradict your words, you become less than effective as a leader….or a spokesman.

I expect ICE Barbie will follow soon.

DHS and ICE (and Bovino and Noem) now have less credibility than Baghdad Bob

And yet again

This time the excuse is a “gun” rather than a vehicle.

The video is pretty clear. No matter what the Narrative from Border Patrol and Ice Barbie…

The smart move, to not get shot, is to not be there doing useless protests.

Bu the videos with Alex Prettii is pretty damning.

Carrying a pistol is not illegal. They took it from his waistband holster…even before they shot him. Just having a gun on your person is NOT an excuse that the Border Patrol can use here.

I’d link videos but you can easily find them on Youtube and other places….  if you bother to look and haven’t decided to swallow the government’s narrative without looking at the evidence. They are pretty conclusive.

Then vs now

In many places, they’ve pre-emptively closed schools for Monday and Tuesday.

Over a bit of ice and some snow…

But back in the 70’s and 80’s it took more than that to get us a snow day:

Kids (and parents) today are pussies.

First time in nearly 2 months

But I was able to pull the 340 out and fire it up Thursday. .

I wanted decent VFR weather for the post maintenance flight…..The plane is FINALLY out of annual and someone had to take it up.

So I did.

It was pretty clear, just a few clouds at 6000 ft…pretty strong winds though

Once around the pattern to see if everything worked, and it seemed to. Crosswind, downwind, base, final. crossed the numbers at 80 and would not have known I had landed except I heard the tires chirp one, two, and then the nose.  (Or Upwind, downwind, then the nosewheel if you prefer.) Smooth as silk.

Taxiied back, did another takeoff, left the pattern, flew from a hundred knots to over 180 knots at full throttle, then to another airport for another decent (if not as good as the first one) landing.

Taxi back and then on to another airport,  then home and did an RNav just for practice.

1.2 and 4

I remember how to fly, oddly enough.

Some minor gripes and some work for me to do, but nothing major fell off and everything worked. The gear goes up and (more importantly) down

Back to flying once the temps get above zero…..

Winter:

Ice for the south, REAL cold for the north.

One would think, from the media coverage, that this was the first time that it had ever gotten cold like this. I expect that the coverage is the same in the south.

Cold is no joke, it can kill you.  You can lose fingers and toes.

Ice is no joke, it makes for downed power lines and very slick travel.  Lots of folks in the middle of the country will get a lot of ice and they might be dark for a week or so.

But at the end of it, it is what most of us call “Winter” and one simply has to prepare for it, and be smart enough to deal with it.

If not, as I was taught so many years ago….”Darwin is always waiting”.

But I grow tired of the hype from the Media. It is like most things in life: either yer gonna be smart enough to prepare for it or you aren’t. You are either gonna be smart enough to dress to handle the conditions, or you aren’t, and yer gonna get hurt if not.

I recommend everyone have enough snacks and easily prepared food…..And enough booze of your choice to weather the storm ahead.
