I do.
We loaded storm damaged Cherry trees for firewood. Lots more available. If you are in NWI and need firewood (or know someone with a sawmill that wants some), email me.
Some dis-assembly required.
Here it is loaded ready for hauling to my house.

This is the third load of cherry I have hauled, I got firewood for the next three years for me and my neighbor.
There are some really massive trees that got uprooted 2 storms ago. These are the medium sized pieces. Easy for me to handle with the tractor with the log tongs. The big ones are about 2500 LBs.
That’s gonna be a LOT of exercise!
yep, cutting and splitting and stacking
DO NOT WASTE THAT LUMBER!!! Get you a chainsaw mill and turn that into lumber. Cut it, stack it with good stickers in a barn or weather tight shed and in a year or two that’ll draw good money from woodworkers, carpenters, cabinetmakers… anybody that uses wood will enjoy working with that.
Fred: It is harder to do with just a chainsaw than you might think.
If one has the guides, or has a sawmill, perhaps. But with just a chainsaw (and a big one for these logs)) then nope, you just butcher the wood. I’ve tried.
If you are near, and want some wood like that, I can help you get some, there is more like that available for the taking.
I would if I was closer. It’s a long way from east Texas to Indiana. I use 2×6 boards for guides on homemade end brackets.
Shoot me an email and I’ll send you pictures. A proper built chainsaw mill frame can be gotten from temu cheap. It ain’t a granberg but it’s a lot cheaper. If you’ve got a drill you could make one with bed frame rail and all thread. It’ll be ugly but it’ll work. It’ll be more tedious to adjust the thickness but it’ll work.
Shoot me an email.
Would love the chip debris for my smoker.
come get some. We got LOTS
I have a sawmill and frequent this place:

You may be able to find someone local to you. They would definitely be interested in sawing the wood. You could get (up to) half of it for free (trade the logs for the lumber ).
