Can anyone explain to me why the DNC run cities want to be “Sanctuary Cities”? Why they want illegals, and the crime they bring to invade their spaces? To have their welfare and other government aid budgets explode as they have to pay for an additional 15%-45% of their aid budgets to the indigents from South and Central America? Why the are doing all they can to hobble the efforts of the ICE agents in rounding up the illegals?
Why, besides identity politics, do they want to harm the citizens of their cities, to break their budgets, to lower the standard of living in their community, to have additional people who will lower the average wage and compete with the productive citizens for lower wage/unskilled jobs?
Can someone give a cogent and complete answer?

Liberals are incapable of grasping absolute truths. For that matter, they are not capable of understanding global coordinate systems and North, East, South, West. They are left-right-straight ahead people. Consequently, they are exceptionally vulnerable to betting turned around.

It feels like the only rational answer is that a large fraction of our countrymen (30%? 40?) are mentally ill. Their world view is deformed by their illness (Trump derangement syndrome, anyone?) To try to find logical reasons for their insanity is… crazy. Old NFO nailed politicians, venal grifters all, both sides of the aisle; their part in this is easy to understand. I think until we know what exactly is wrong with our deluded fellow Americans we will not be able to start to fix any of this. One has to acknowledge that a problem exists in order to solve it.

Illegal aliens in most jobs have taxes withheld from their pay, but being illegal, are not eligible for some types of government services.
In many urban areas strict immigration enforcement is unpopular, therefore non-cooperation with immigration laws is a vote-winner for the politicians who run those cities. This is analogous to many rural county authorities’ refusal to cooperate with state gun-control laws, since those laws are unpopular with voters in those counties.
If you are going to state something like that (both Crime and Taxes)(which flies in the face of everyone’s observations and sounds like something a Leftist would make up) yer gonna have to show your work by giving some (credible) studies and statistics to back your statement.

Most illegal aliens are paid under the table in cash. They don’t pay withholding and more important for the employers, they don’t pay their share of the withholding.
