What happens when the protesters shoot back using the same “Less-than-Lethal” munitions? If the protesters are doing legal protests outside the fence (which appears to be the case), then the agents have no reason to use such methods….If those are legal, then shooting the same items back to the agents inside the compound should ALSO be legal. Shoot at me, I shoot back. The below looks like the Ice agents are breaking the law.
At this point, it does seem that the ICE folks have gone from enforcing the law to (I hate to say it) “Gestapo Tactics” and have crossed the line to just plain thuggish and illegal behavior.
‘Tis bad enough that they hide their faces as if they are ashamed of their actions (There is a tactical reason to cover your face when doing operations in the dark. If you need to do so during the day, then you are most likely ashamed of your actions or are just doing so to intimidate your victims.) , but this seems to have gone beyond the line.
So, can people shoot back at them with pepper balls, rubber bullets and baton rounds? Tit-for-Tat and all that. If the agents can shoot at them when they are not a threat then one would think the protesters can return fire using the same items. If I were there I think I would.
I don’t see where shooting pepper balls and rubber bullets at peacefully protesting citizens is (or should be) seen as anything but illegal harassment and attempted bodily harm.
I’d like to know the answer though.

Never thought I’d be siding against Immigrations and Customs enforcement. Tom Homan has to reign these folks in and stop defending their actions when they are beyond the pale.
Im gonna hazard a guess that it looks like he is aiming at the ground. It looks like the rioters are starting to touch the fence around the building. So he is giving a FAFO thought to them.
Now if you are advocating for the rioters to “shoot” back; then WOW…mmmmm…..you had better rethink that. If the rioters “shoot” back; then the fed boi has every legal right to shoot with lethality.

I am advocating using the EXACT same level of force that the “FEDBOIS” are using on peaceful protesters.

I guess you could electrify the fence but then you have a reading problem. I saw no direct engagement. I did see people being shown a limit to their mostly peaceful protest. Shooting back at the feds could get you killed, and I doubt those folks would be willing for a FAFO moment. If you live you will face at least assault if not attempted murder charges, you will be bankrupt thru lawfare even if you don/t serve time. Not a smart play. Your assessment of the clip is flawed IMHO.
My assessment is flawed? is it? How? Some of his rounds are splashing at the fence in front of the protesters….thus he is aiming at them. Even if you are correct and he is “Aiming at the ground” why is he shooting at all?
Why is he allowed to shoot ANYTHING at people who are, at that time, not breaking any laws?
If he can shoot pepper balls and other shit at people for no reason, then they have the right to shoot back. if not, then he is breaking the law and should be arrested.

I’m not sure, but given that there have been riots and attacks on ICE facilities as of late, the “protesters” may have been ordered to disperse or maintain a greater distance.
The masks are not because of geshtapo tactics. The masks are becausr agents are getting doxxed and their families threatened. Why are “protesters” allowed to wear masks? Feels like guerilla or terrorist tactics.
I’m going to cut them slack on the face coverings. They have to cover their faces to keep their families safe. With doxxing and nutso crazy leftists, it’s necessary. Flip side, they are anonymous and are therefore more likely to take things further than they would otherwise.
I might have seen some context in a video from elsewhere: The ICE agents were transporting prisoners out of the facility in vehicles through a gate there, in front, where the protesters are seen. They DID obstruct the vehicle leaving the facility, forcing agents to go hands on in person outside the gate. This early pepper use didn’t soften them up enough to avoid more trouble later.
I don’t know about firing back, but I think the cop was unjustified and exceeded his authority.
Charges are in order.
How about these “mostly peaceful protestors” just go home. Lets remember that they are protesting the holding of criminal illegal aliens, after all. I’m amazed that these federal agents are using such a gentle hand to an open attack on federal property. In Portland OR, since the riots have started there has been over 200 federal officers with permanent disability injuries at the hands of “these peaceful protestors”.

You can’t blame what some asshole did in Portland on someone in the Greater Chicago area.
They have the right to protest, stupid though it may be. THey aren’t breaking any laes by protesting on the city property and even the city of Broadview says that ICE is out of control.
What you and so many others fail to realize is that if ICE can say you can’t protest and gets to use harassing fire (I call it committing assault) on these folks, they can do it to you. Did you say a few years ago that the Jan 6th folks should have gone home and that they, instead, got what they deserved???same situation with the roles reversed, my man. I am sorry you are so narrow minded that you can’t see that. It depends on the focus of the protest, doesn’t it?
