I just heard a Talking Head on the Chicago CBS station use the word “Unprecedented” in describing a winter weather event.
In Chicago.
In January.
Seriously?

Journalists have an amazingly SMALL vocabulary. They ONLY say what they are told to say.
Snort… because they haven’t seen it before, of course it’s unprecedented…
It’s not like it hasn’t snowed a foot or more in recent years here.
I remember in the movie The President’s Analyst Pat Harrington as the animatronic representative of TPC (“The Phone Company”) complete with a power and data cable running out of his trouser leg.
I do not see any significant difference between that movie character and today’s “news” personnel except today’s vermin are connected by wi-fi so there’s no cable.

Stationed in Germany during some extremely cold winters in the early 60’s. I can remember some guys from Chicago talking about “The Hawk”.
The “media” should ask Mayor Bilandic what “unprecedented” means….
