I got wood…serious wood

I used a different set of log tongs (still gonna make a set as soon as I find some half inch plate) to pick up the rounds in my front yard and stack ’em in the back yard. It’s nice having the tractor to pick ’em up.

Yeah, those rounds stacked are 70+inches tall.

Plus these:

Makes for a lot of wood. It’ll make a LOT of firewood come next year.

I used a set of these:

Which are nice tongs, for what they are, but they really don’t grip the logs the way the tongs that I lost . They just sorta hook the wood. Yeah, they are meant for skidding, not lifting, but they really won’t replace what I had, either.

I’m still gonna make a new set. I gotta find some 1/2″ drops that are like 18″X 6″

So the cops

are telling me they are hoping the Ferguson/Brown/Wilson Grand Jury decision (which by all accounts if is anything resembling fair, will exonerate Officer Wilson) happens later in the week, as then the weather will be cold and somewhat windy, and the protests in major urban areas will be less motivated to stay out and make trouble….In other words, they’ll fizzle out fairly quickly, if they happen at all.

Seems that they all believe that these folks will only protest when it is convenient, and they’ll protest only because they don’t have anything better to do. and won’t when they might get uncomfortable doing it.

I hope they are right about this.

Fuck ’em

Who says they have any authority, anyway?

What right does the “Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission” have telling any business that they can’t refuse to provide goods or services to anyone?

A privately owned business should be able to choose who, when, where and how they do business. If they don’t want to do business with someone, then that is their choice. Not up to the government, be it state, local or federal. If they want to discriminate based on religion, or race, or gender or whatever, that is between them and their customers….Not any government entity…Iif the Human Rights Commission is actually a government entity)

I would have issues were this a publicly funded entity such as a school or a government office, but it isn’t. It is a private business.

I’d contribute to a legal defense fund, if he goes to court and needs help.

Rumor has it

That things are gonna get all…exciting…in Ferguson and surrounding areas very soon.

Were I a business owner, I’d have tried to find a way to secure my business better.

Or I’da closed it down already, or sold it.

The local Sheriff has told me they expect sympathy riots in the South Side of Chicago and Gary.

Oughta be interesting.

If yer in, or work in, or must pass through a “minority area” then I’d stay frosty.

Bundy Ranch news

Seems that the BLM is going about things in a different direction….an end run around.

HERE

“Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs) are human restricted management areas. ACECs have been a tool used by the federal government to gain further control of large masses of western lands and the resources.

As proposed, nearly 3 million acres in Southern Nevada will be locked away from the people. This includes most uses on the land (recreational, agricultural or otherwise).”

Read the whole thing. Yeah, the Bundy’s are biased, but still….

If they do this, will “Dirty Harry” still get his solar plant?
