As a general  rule (there may be exceptions) the people who use food banks for their food are seldom the people who work at (generally volunteers) the Food Banks?

Jaquansha and her girlfriend To-nesha in the cities (or Jolene and Tyrone in the ‘burbs, or Janette and Billy in the Appalachians ) or any of the others who show up for the Free Food in their car each holding a $12 Starbucks and wearing $2,000 worth of gold jewelry around their necks (and in their ears) with their brand new fake eyelashes and new fake fingernails…. are NOT the people who are volunteering at the understaffed food banks.

The Trump administration got a (partial) victory Friday as the Supreme Court upheld its emergency appeal to temporarily block a court order to fully fund SNAP payments amid the government shutdown.

It ain’t up to the courts (nor is is up to The President) to decide what monies are spent. That is the purview of our elected congressmen. If the funds aren’t allocated by Congress, then they simply aren’t there.

About time someone, even the Supremes, put SOME limits on these liberal lower court judges.

Any judge who makes such a ruling like these lower courts should be impeached as they demonstrate that they do not understand the limits imparted to the branches of government by the Constitution, nor the limits that same document places upon them personally. .

So the ATC system,  always understaffed (at last report about 3 months ago they were down about 3500 controllers from “ideal” staffing levels) is  suddenly “understaffed” (to the point that they have to reduce the numbers of flights into certain airports).

As far as I can tell, the controllers are required by law to show up for work no matter the fact that they are not being paid..  And, apparently (some of) these controllers are not showing up for work…..but no action is being taken against them….why not?.

Yet somehow, there is (suddenly) an issue with “understaffing” that wasn’t an issue 2 months ago.

I think this is political theater to force a resolution of the budget issues.

I could be wrong.

Of “The Government” in a state of shutdown….

Does this mean that we get to only pay 20% (Or really more like 11%) of our taxes during this period? I mean, that’s all the government we are getting, right?

(Make no mistake, I think the country is running fine without that 89% (although we do need to pay  for the Military and ATC (but not really the TSA) and we can do without all those closed other agencies like Department of Education, or Energy, and the like)

But since we aren’t getting what they are taxing us for, do we get a discount??

On the other hand, they will help drag the US dollar to yet unheard of highs of inflation. It is bad enough that California (and Chicago) is devaluing our currency (and that our Congress is letting that happen) but now New York City is going to do the same.

We have that where I live…the Chicago people leave because of high taxes, an oppressive government, liberal policies that lead to high crime and too many immigrants….Then when they get here they vote for the same shit that broke their old state..
