It would be funny

if it weren’t so sad…

All the people cheering the harm being done to the folks that are Anti-ICE demonstrators..

These folks were the first in line to decry the treatment of the Jan 6th protesters. Think about that, each and every one of you.

Not realizing that the only difference is that they approve of one set of protesters and disapprove of the other……that one person’s rebel is another person’s freedom fighter…It’s all in the point of view, innit?

They cheer the treatment today that they abhorred then, when it was done to their side.

You’d think they’d be smart enough to see the irony.

But apparently that is expecting too much.

Question:

If the shutdown happens, does ICE and CBP also shut down?

I mean, if we have to shut down our parks and such, why would we need to have these ex cops running around parading in their tactical gear if we can’t have all those other agencies doing their jobs?

I mean, lets get real here.

The ICE agents committing assault  with paintball guns full of pepper balls might be tabled for a while.

Sad: All those bad cops that left their departments just in front of their review board hearings to join ICE are now gonna get laid off without pay….

I mean, if they are gonna shut down “non essential” government service, surely ICE agents shooting paintballs at civilians is one that they can justify….

Shutdown!

It is my firm belief that any Federal agency that is “Non-Essential” enough to shut down due to the Federal Funding issue is proven, by demonstration, to be unnecessary and should immediately have it’s funding cut by 1/3 before they explain why the remaining amount of their funding should continue.

Of course, the stupid will continue during this shutdown. National parks that were previously not attended nor serviced by park staff will now have their parking lot gates locked, things like that…..Scenic overlooks will be cordoned off by cones ….all designed to share the pain and to inconvenience the people that they are supposed to serve.

The Stupid of our government workers will be on full display.

And now they’ve promised “Retribution”

to the City of Broadview.

“In retaliation for the Village of Broadview yesterday calling on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to “stop making war on our community,” ICE agents this morning informed the Broadview Police Department that there will be “a s*** show’ in Broadview today.”

Jesus, now I sound like MS Misfit, only this time it isn’t hyperbole and half-psychotic fantasy like her rants….this time it is real. They’ve promised to deploy teargas and any other force they think necessary against the citizens of Broadview and anyone they think might get in their way for any reason.

At some point these agents need to be reigned in (or better, fired). They’ve gone from an enforcement action (which I heartily applauded) to thuggery and they are hiding behind their Federal Status and using it as shield to throw their weight around. This isn’t law enforcement, this is thuggery and intimidation tactics and power projection.  Forgotten their limits and their mission. Forgotten who they serve. Power Corrupts and all that. Yes, “Gestapo Tactics”…the fact that they issued the warning to the town demonstrated that they have forgotten what they are and what their limits are. That they are way out of control…That they believe they are masters, rather than servants. (I’m betting that these are the kind of cops who wanted to be bullies in High School but couldn’t be so now they get a badge and power).

Threatening citizens is going a bit too far. Cop culture writ large. An ass beating is in order. ‘Tis no wonder they are afraid to show their faces. .

Can they shoot back?

I mean, the ICE agents fired pepper balls at the protesters OUTSIDE the fence at an ICE detainment facility…..

What happens when the protesters shoot back using the same “Less-than-Lethal” munitions? If the protesters are doing legal protests outside the fence (which appears to be the case), then the agents have no reason to use such methods….If those are legal, then shooting the same items back to the agents inside the compound should ALSO be legal. Shoot at me, I shoot back.  The below looks like the Ice agents are breaking the law.

At this point, it does seem that the ICE folks have gone from enforcing the law to (I hate to say it) “Gestapo Tactics” and have crossed the line to just plain thuggish and illegal behavior.

‘Tis bad enough that they hide their faces as if they are ashamed of their actions (There is a tactical reason to cover your face when doing operations in the dark. If you need to do so during the day, then you are most likely ashamed of your actions or are just doing so to intimidate your victims.) , but this seems to have gone beyond the line.

So, can people shoot back at them with pepper balls, rubber bullets and baton rounds? Tit-for-Tat and all that. If the agents can shoot at  them when they are not a threat then one would think the protesters can return fire using the same items. If I were there I think I would.

I don’t see where shooting pepper balls and rubber bullets at peacefully protesting citizens is (or should be) seen as anything but illegal harassment and attempted bodily harm.

I’d like to know the answer though.

Is anyone reigning these supposed cops in? Or are they (as it appears) the dregs of other police departments?

Never thought I’d be siding against Immigrations and Customs enforcement.  Tom Homan has to reign these folks in and stop defending their actions when they are beyond the pale.
