17 years

My first post was Feb 7th 2009.

I learned a lot, and I’ve made a lot of friends because of blogging.

Seen people come and go, shared some triumphs and some losses with you, and generally had a lot of fun doing this.

Thanks for coming by when you do, for so many years. Tis the readers that make this work (and sometimes it is work) worthwhile.

Bethany MaGee is out of the hopsital

She “has completed the inpatient portion of her recovery” after being set on fire by a mentally deranged criminal with a long history of violence who was set free by a liberal judge only a wshort time before.

She still, apparently, has a long way to go in her recovery.

I think that it is a shame that people that are criminals get millions of dollars in a day or two (especially if they are black or Hispanic) via a GoFundMe, but Ms MaGee (a white woman) could raise barely half a million as a REAL victim in 3 months (her link is HERE if you wanna donate a buck or 20)

Oh, hell yeah!

(But somehow, asking you to not enter if you “Stink of weed” is racist…..)

Golden Nest Pancake & Cafe in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, recently erected a sign stating: ‘Please do not enter if you smell of marijuana. Gold Nest Pancake & Cafe is a family\restaurant, and this is unappealing while guests are dining. Thank you.’

I hate the smell. It’s worse that cigarette smoke (and I used to smoke). It is pervasive and modern weed is pretty rank.

I dislike going to Michigan and Illinois because of the stink. It’s everywhere, anywhere that pot is legal.

I think that the diner has made a good choice. If I lived there, they’d get my business.

I find it funny how the thought that banning folks that “Stink of weed” is somehow racist though. Most of the people I encounter in Illinois and Michigan who “:Stink of weed:” are pretty melanin-deprived. I don’t find that black neighborhoods smell any more like weed that white ones. Apparently, though, all of the complaints about the sign and the policy were made by,..,.,.,.,black people.

Wednesday Words of Wisdom Sebenty

“If your absence doesn’t affect them, your presence never mattered”

“It is your belief in yourself, that fuels your success: It matters not what others think.”

“The best way to get ahead is to get started”

“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval”

“Honest and integrity are the best of the lost arts”

“The person who no longer cares about the outcome is the most dangerous opponent”

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life,”

In Minneapolis:

Apparently the Anti-ICE folks think that it is OK to stop people to check their ID’s so they can “Determine if they are ICE or not”

Apparently the police have chosen not to put a stop to this illegal practice… (Some non-police dude that thinks he or she has the self-appointed authority to stop me and check my ID might find that difficult)

Here’s how you handle that:

(I’d likely have used more throttle)

Not that I want to see anyone hurt, but after the first two or three amateur roadblockers get knocked out of the way and go to the hospital (or the morgue) then they will start behaving.

I gotta wonder why the folks in Minneapolis allow these people to do their stupid shit.

I’m trying to care, but I just can’t seem to

i haven’t heard of any bureaucrats getting a pay cut, either

United Nations risks ‘imminent financial collapse’, secretary general warns.

You’d think that they’d be laying off people, but no, they’d rather cut “Aid” than stop employing their friends and colleague’s second and third sons and daughters….

It isn’t just the United States that is refusing to pay. Lots of nations are either paying only a fraction of their dues or not at all..

Countries don’t want a significant portion of their GDP going to employ a bunch of useless european bureaucrats and enrich a bunch of connected families.

Much like the USAID cuts, the only people really affected are the people profiting from those programs….

Now that the World Health Organization isn’t being funded by the United States, they are also starting to worry as there are a lot of useless jobs there also under the gun….

At the end of it all, the world can more easily do without the UN than the UN can do without the world..

‘Tis the start of the Midterm campaign season:

And all the “Liberal” candidates are starting out with their announcements and their promises….

I think each and every one of them has said that they will “make Millionaires pay their fair share”. For some it is just a way to generate support, but others really believe that they aren’t paying a “Fair Share”.

What is a fair share?

Millionaires and billionaires pay for well over 1/2 of the actual tax paid.  And they pay about 475% more than the “middle class”.

But the claims that they aren’t paying their “Fair Share” are ever present in the Liberal camp. I guess envy and hate are the only thing they can use to generate votes….

Funny how we punish those who work harder, and make better decisions (or sometimes are just lucky) than the average taxpayer, and who pay most of the bills.

A rich man generally generates jobs for others, and a rich man generally uses LESS government (or at least no more) than a poor man.

But the claim that they aren’t paying their “Fair Share” is ever present in the Liberal rhetoric during campaign season.

Try to take too much and the rich man moves somewhere else.  At some point, he won’t pay what you are demanding.
