Like him, I thought the sawzall would be the best (and it might still be for vertical pipe, I dunno)
But either way, all of the ways to cut pipe seem to take about a minute more or less.
YMMV, closed course with a professional driver, no Flock cameras were harmed in the making of this video, obey all local laws, etc, etc, etc
The difference between Sawzall and circular saw is a carbide tipped blade. BTW the circular saw is the loudest thing on the planet when cutting metal.
My vote was gonna be for the sawzall, too. Huh. Now I know better.
“my hand is vibrating” means poor technique- he wasn’t placing the guard/guide/whatever against the piece.
12 seconds is way faster than 56 seconds if you’re in a hurry.
No hurry? No noise? Cool Hand Luke.
and I know where there is a large pipe cutter like that….
Stay out of my workshop, B!
Agree with Robert.
If he would have had a full sized sawzall that had 1 1/2″ stroke instead of that hatched with it’s 3/4″ stroke AND he held the foot against the pipe, I bet it would have cut a lot faster.
I certainly wouldn’t want to give anyone the impression I’d condone using a battery powered band saw, but the deep cut versions are the best.
Not necessary to cut all the way through, you know. Gravity is your friend.
