Y’ know…..

any folks required to work (essential personnel) should get paid for their work.

Note that Air Traffic controllers are “calling in SIck” in protest….but they have not yet missed a paycheck, as their pay cycle is such that they have not yet missed  a payment…..

All the rest, those employed of the Federal Government who have been “temporarily furloughed” and who are not working, should NOT receive any compensation for the time they are not working…(In fact, it is my belief that if they are not needed enough that they can be furloughed during the budget battle they are likely not needed enough to be employed at all).

If you ain’t working, you shouldn’t get paid.

Enough of this shit.

  1. No retroactive pay for work not done. Otherwise they have additional taxpayer funded vacations. If you’re working, you should get paid on time.

If they don’t end up fired, they should have to take vacation time in order to get paid for their time off. No vacation time, no pay.

  2. Last night heard a person speaking for air traffic controllers, who was claiming their delayed paychecks were causing them major issues like keeping the lights on and taking care of their children (single parent household). But when I looked up the salary for an air traffic controller, I found the median salary was $140,000 and year. Starting pay $60,000 – $80,000. Experienced personnel could command $180,000 and up.

If you didn’t store up some extra $$$ when receiving a steady paycheck – that is on you. That is serious bread. Most of us (myself included) live on far less than that.

MC point on vacation time makes sense.
