So if you are Israel:

I mean, it was one thing when it was a “Terror group” that the Nation-States could deny funding or other connections to…even though everyone knew that it was the Iranians, possibly via the Syrians, that were funding Hezbollah….

But now, when Iran is directly firing missiles against the Nation of Israel, it is an act of war….Nation to Nation.

So what does Israel do?  Attack back in kind? Missiles are, really, an ineffective weapon of war except in special circumstances…otherwise really still just a terror weapon.

Boots on the ground? Hard to do, hard to supply, harder to make effective.

Other methods lead to lots of escalation….Nukes are a bad idea (even if Israel wanted to confirm that they have them (we know they do, but no one can prove it) as they are a major escalation and a messy device to use, not only for the combatants but for the rest of the world as well.

But they can’t just sit and allow more and more Israeli citizens to be killed in unprovoked attacks.

I really think they are trapped, damned if they do, and damned if they don’t.

Were it me, the largest Mosque in Iran would be rubble this same night, along with the Iranian Parliament building.

Then wait. see what happens.

  1. I believe that the Israelis will attempt to decapitate the Iranian regime just as they’ve done with Hezbollah, and given some of Bibi’s recent comments I think they will encourage an “Iranian Spring”.

  2. I guess bombing the Iranian embassy in Syria was okay because you know Israel is never wrong. Who is the terrorist state depends on which end of the bomb you are on.

  3. Now that Iran has engaged Israel directly. It would be a rather ideal response to hit Iran’s nuclear sites now before they finish developing a nuclear warhead to out on those ballistic missiles.

  4. Oil refineries and tanker port facilities, airports, the big blue mosque and their nuclear sites. ALL…AT…ONCE. It would be game over for iran as a nation. No one has the guts to win anymore.

  5. I think Iran is about to discover their vulnerability. Of course, the usual increase in the price of oil, collateral damage, unnecessary deaths, and erroneous reporting will happen. Those investing in oil will increase their wealth, those investing in arms companies will see an increase in the value of their stock, and the usual haters on both sides will fail to realize this will never end, until there isn’t much left to fight over.

Israel is the underdog, but is vicious, quick to respond, and determined to win. They will retaliate, and woe to those that think their armament bunkers are safe.

  6. I suspect Israeli missiles would be a lot more accurate than Iran’s. And Israel could target Iranian oil infrastructure and hurt them badly. Sooner later someone somewhere is going to open Pandora’s box, let the genie out of the bottle and use a nuke….or several. Once that Rubicon is crossed all bets will be off. But at this point Israel has no need to resort to that. Unfortunately anyone conscious will have learned that there can be no coexisting with islam. Sooner or later Iran or another group will acquire nuclear weapons. And eventually they will use them. It’s just a matter of when, not if. But all the speculation about who will do what is academic. Islam will NEVER cease trying to kill ALL Jews and after that move on to ALL non muslims. That means war is never ending….unless or until one side completely exterminates the other.

  7. Nukes would be counter-productive.
Round One: Air defense radar and missile sites, and Iranian airbases.
Round Two: Anything they feel like. Starting with port facilities, oil production and storage, and power plants.
Round Three: All Iranian ground forces and depots.
Round Four: Anything they can hit related to Iran’s nuclear development.

Then, with Iran broken, defenseless, hungry, and sitting in the dark, sit back and ask Iran if they really wanted to play the next five to twenty rounds, or just lost their minds for a second.

Every day they stall on that answer, you do another round.

IIRC, North Vietnam lasted about a week and a half like that.
And, as a non-negotiable condition for cessation, Iran agrees to unconditionally admit NATO weapons inspection and full dismantlement forces of its entire nuclear program.
Or else you just take the country apart, until they’re back to camels, goats, and fat lamps, living in tents.

    • We are mostly on the same page.

“Do you really wanna continue playing?” “I got more, if you want it”

As I posted on Aaron’s site:

“Were it me, I’d destroy the largest mosque and the parliament building…exactly 24 hours from the first Iranian Missile entering Israeli airspace.

Then pause for 24 hours while publishing a list of 100 possible targets that might be hit in the near future…..Other mosques, oil facilities, power distribution systems, generating stations, food productions facilities, train stations and yards, etc.
Provide a detailed list. Maybe the nuke production facilities. List each one that might be a target. anyone killed if one of those targets is hit was warned.

If the Iranians want to play, then play.”

      • Sure, but you want to take out their air defenses first, and completely.

After that, it’s fish in a barrel, and you can do whatever you like.

The Arab world, not particularly caring for Persian hegemony in the region, pretty much just watches and laughs quietly.
