  3. Different times. The vaccines were basically an emergency “stuff job”. If Europe and North American had been hit with a virus variant as nasty as the one in China, the vaccines probably would have saved lives of the older (middle aged) work force. That virus mutated and the delayed cellular immunity without much production of the immediate action antibodies was not very useful except for certain types of untreated medical co-morbidities. There is still the question of long-term side effects, but that was always a gamble, when the quick reaction product was only designed to save lives in the short term.

    The continued use of the product in productive workers while exempting illegal aliens and welfare dependents is clearly a way to open up positions for marginal people who couldn’t otherwise make the grade in a normal economy.
