Two houses ago I heated with wood. Two cords of split wood was more than enough to heat my home in the winter (I am in Georgia). I had access to "free" wood if I cut and split extra for my parents who owned the land. It kept me in shape the months I was cutting/splitting.

I miss that house. I had an 8 foot levee at the back of the property that backed up to a 25 acre pond and 800 acres of pine trees – it made a great 100 yard range.
