In Northwest Indiana, people have made it through the week-or-more power outage without needing “Donations” to help them. The residents clean up the storm damage (at least make the roads are passable)  and are grateful when the poser line repair crews show up to fix things. The residents make do, either with generators or other means, and help each other…they have family to stay with or to help them clean up themselves or their laundry.

But not in Gary, Indiana, especially those in Public (Or Publicly Subsidized) housing: nope. those people just sit there and wait for someone else to feed the, wash them, bring them clean clothes….and bitch about it a lot, despite the Free Shit.

Their city government (That they vote in years after year, full of graft and nepotism) refused to clear the trees from the streets so the power line crews could GET TO the damaged power lines (many of which were so old (Because no one wants to invest in a neighborhood with so much crime and other issues), that they could not be repaired with modern materials, requiring a lot of a rebuilding rather than just repair)…and the crews have to have police escorts just so that they can work without fear of being shot at…..

But the residents just bitch about the conditions that they have made for themselves.  They bitch because no one is fixing their ancient infrastructure fast enough and no one is giving them enough Free Shit.

There is something wrong with these people and their culture. Perhaps this is why Africa is a shithole once the europeans leave and let the natives run things….
