I guess the only real difference that we need to realize is that all those hurricane Helene victims don’t do any 35% kickbacks…..So they come second or third to other countries and Ukraine. (I am not sure how much the actual kickbacks are, I have no verifiable information of the actual percentage. It might be zero, although I doubt that)

I donated a fair amount via Samaritan’s Purse. (No matter what your faith, these people are very efficient and are good at helping people….. regardless of the name they give their god, or even if they do….If you are not sure where to donate, these folks should be on your short list)

Samaritan’s Purse showed up in Mayfield, Ky when our F4 came though. That was towards the end of 2020 and just last week they had a good bye luncheon for them. They were the first in and the last to leave. Built 61 house for people displace. Can’t say enough good things for the organization.
Yeah, I delivered a bunch of donated stuff from NW Indiana (some generators, a shitload of extension cords, a bunch of gas cans, and some other supplies) to the Mayfield airport….That devastation was, while not widespread, pretty bad.
It’s not even a gift. It’s a LOAN, and if you don’t pay it back you forfeit your property.
