I heartily agree with the decision to livestream the public execution by firing squad of Major Nidal Hasan on December 3rd.

Such will be the lesson to those who would perpetrate terror on our citizens and our Military. This is how you end, not in heroism, nor a martyr, but in ignominy.

Were it up to me I’d demonstrate even more by burying him in the embrace of a slaughtered pig, to make sure he does not find his way to his 72 Virgins. And I’d livestream that as well, ad an object lesson to the others who might think to martyr themselves. This isn’t religion, it is the punishment fitting the crime.

I think public hangings would be a good lesson to those who would prey on others, and whippings at the post would be a great deterrent (and great punishment for significant  (but less than capital) crimes to those who cannot seem to learn to obey the laws of the society in which they live.
