and the day off that comes with it.
Funny how it is a moveable (federal) holiday, just so that people (Labor) can get an additional paid day off.
Of course, if it were really “Labor” (Celebrating the Worker) Day, every single business would be closed, and people wouldn’t expect hotels, bars, restaurants, Gas Stations, and National and State Parks to be open to serve them.
But, of course, THOSE people are generally not Union, so no one cares about them.
That was pretty much every Sunday when I was a kid. Blue Laws shut down almost every business. You had a day free. Drug stores, gas stations, grocery stores but with limited hours.
It was a better place. Convenience is at a cost of other people’s time.
