The protest makes no sense because your Constitution pretty much defines a President as monarch – he has far more power than ever George III had.
I gather that the original deal was that he was elected by an electorate restricted to prosperous white males. Now he’s elected by the citizens, the illegal immigrants, the computer hackers, and the photocopiers. This change is referred to as progress.
