Is that the release of the Epstein files NOW, means nothing: that at this point every bit of incriminating evidence regarding the “PeopleThatMatter” has been scrubbed and there is nothing to make any of the folks who voted for the release (or the people who control those Senators and Congressmen) look bad. And yes, I include President Trump in that group.
All that the Justice Department had to so, all those years ago, was to give us the list of those who flew to the Island….flight logs or failing that, a list of the people that passed through the immigration system of the US Virgin Islands on the way to Epstein’s’ playground.
The powerful and influential people will have, by now, made sure that the important names were purged.
This is, at this point, really just show. The files have been hidden since 2019. Had they been released then, there night have been some belief in their veracity. As it is, they have none now. All we will see is the names of those people who were not influential enough to have their names removed

“The Epstein Files bill gives Attorney General Pam Bondi the power to withhold or redact any information deemed a threat to national security or that could compromise an active federal investigation.”
She likely won’t have to do any reactions since everything has already been scrubbed, but just in case, she’s covered.
So we’ll see lackeys like Larry Summers but not their masters.
On this subject, I positively glow if I let myself vent or rant.
You covered it succinctly.
The Epstein “files” will contain nothing of genuine value by this time, as noted above. The real story is what this affair tells us about the so-called “rule of law” in these United States. Namely, that it is if not dead-and-buried, it is on life support.
This whole sordid episode has done nothing more than prove for all time that the members of the ruling class are above the law, and can do pretty much whatever they please without unpleasant consequences. The only “crime” which is not forgivable is betrayal of that class by one of its own.
The perversity of the rich and powerful apparently knows no bounds. Pedophilia, the grooming of children and teens, sexual exploitation, rape, murder, narcotics trafficking, money laundering on a huge scale, blackmail, extortion, you name it – it’s all fine, as long as you have that “Get Out of Jail Free!” card the big-shots all seem to have.
The elephant in the room is the probable involvement of one or more foreign/domestic intelligence services. In other words, Epstein’s operation was one of those infamous “honey traps” that you read about in spy novels. Does anyone else care that our entire federal government seems to be under threat of blackmail?
By whom, you ask? The possible culprits range from Israel to the PRC to the Arabs to Iran… to just about anyone you can name. That doesn’t even include the domestic three-letter agencies – who have proven that they’re capable of anything.
