DOJ posits that even though congress says that since they eliminated the tax on short barrel rifles and AOW’s, intending for that regulatory part to go away, the ATF can do what it wants.
They used the phrase “Criminal Misuse” several times….which is gonna come back and haunt the rest of us even for “Normal” firearms.
Under that logic they could make us “register “ anything: books, cars, phones, etc
