Where did all the money go when we sold it?

The Trump administration is dipping its toe—barely—into refilling the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), announcing plans to purchase one million barrels of crude for delivery in December and January. The move, while symbolically significant, amounts to little more than a rounding error in a reserve that once held 700 million barrels….

The Department of Energy will use $171 million from President Trump’s new tax and spending law to fund the purchase, issuing a solicitation for crude to be delivered to the Bayou Choctaw site in Louisiana.

Where did all the money go when Slow Joe sold our energy security to bring oil down in price to help ease the economic tension on the US voters so his party had a better chance in the Midterms?  That oil that was sold was paid for by the purchasers at market price, IIRC about $80 per barrel or so within 30 days….

Now Congress has to approve the funding for the repurchase of Crude oil? Where did that money that was generated when the SPR was sold off last time go?…. And why will it “take years” to do the Purchase? There are people ready and willing to deliver millions of barrels even at this low price….so why do we have to wait “years” to do so? (It shoulda been started the day after inauguration, IMO.

  1. Pretty sure that money went to “grease” the “right” palms. In other words to fund NGO’s, friends and commies, but I repeat myself.

  2. Don’t forget that FJB drew the reserves down so fast that it damaged the lining and had to be repaired before Trump could start to refill it.
