To obtain a mortgage you must have a green card. For a non legal alien immigrant you must obtain a Form W-7. They must generally include (1) your federal income tax return for that year, and (2) a document or set of documents that prove both your identity and foreign nationality status. In other paragraphs these documents must be original and proof of name. The info did state that you would need a private investor for the mortgage as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac require minimum of a green card.
nope. you can get mortgages from Chase and other larger financial institutions with just a Matrícula Consular card and a proof of address (and proof of income, etc). . I checked before posting this.
Yes, the way I read this is it applies to only people with Mexican citizenship.
But you don’t need a Green Card to do so. You don’t have to be legal to get the mortgage.
And this is part of the illegal immigration problem.
