Two tiered justice.
Rich people ….and folks like us
I expected some shenanigans like this to happen. Notice that the case was dismissed “With Prejudice:….they can’t re-file the same charge.
That way the prosecutor looks like they tried to bring him to justice but failed, and he gets off essentially Scott-free.
I wonder how much a judge in New Mexico costs….Is there a volume discount when you add in the prosecutor too?
Prosecutor is cheaper than a judge. She says she liked his politics and that’s why evidence wasn’t included on discovery.
It was a BOGO. he bought the judge and the prosecutor was thrown in for free.
May he be sued into a homeless camp…
Read up.
This was pure incompetence.
One of the special prosecutors quit before the trial when she found out they were suppressing potentially exculpatory evidence.
The only two tiers here are one for innocent people, and one for guilty people.
And for bonus points, those NM prosecutorial ass-clowns have now opened the door for the actual culprit already in prison to file for a mistrial, or verdict set-aside, and get a new trial, in which there’s reasonable doubt about her culpability because the fatal rounds may have been mixed in by the local yokel who sold her the “dummy” ammo.
So it looks like the whole case was a quest to “blame Hollywood” at all costs, when the ultimate guilty party was Billy Ray The Bullet Bonehead.
This judge could smell a cocked up prosecution, and they handed her a reason to throw it all out, served on a platter with an apple in its mouth.
This is what happens when a D.A. on a Ahab-like quest only hires the kids who rode to law school on the short bus.
It is hard, sometimes, to differentiate between incompetence and/or Corruption when it comes to government officials.
“Selective incompetence”
Almost a billion $$$ a year in movie fees… buys a LOT of bureaucrats of all types.
Which buys anyone coming there a “talent” pool of incompetent local screw-ups.
You get what you pay for.
When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
