I disagree that it CAN’T work, it could if the judges are serious about protecting society. Of course the judges don’t feel any need to protect society, just like the prosecutors. Violent people will continue to be offered deals that don’t include any of the violent crimes committed, and judges will continue to release on bail violent people who should be sitting in jail instead of being on the streets continuing to commit violent crimes.
