Dark of the moon, happened on the 6th of June
And thousands of men stormed the beaches of Normandy (and others) to invade.
Facing near-certain death they went. Many died. Others succeeded in gaining a toehold on the beach.
Other parachuted or flew in in gliders to behind the enemy lines…no chance of reinforcement or rescue.
They did it anyway.
Balls. Those men had balls.
What would they think of the country they fought for…today?
Not much…
