Paul Revere and William Dawes  and Samuel Prescott set out to warn the colonists about the approaching British and their plans to confiscate the colonists ability to defend themselves by taking all the powder. They warned the colonists and set other messengers to spread out over the countryside to do the same.

Listen my Children, and you shall hear….of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. (William Dawes and Samuel Prescott kinda got screwed, but their rides were no less heroic)

Take a moment this evening and raise a glass to the three men who warned the colonists that the British were coming, and gave them time to prepare. Things may well have turned out differently were it not for the warning they gave.

As it is, realize that those in power have been trying to take our guns (and thus our ability to resist tyranny) for two and a half centuries.
