We lose more money on nickels than on pennies

Seems that the US Mint is stopping production of Pennies, having said that they will not order an more blanks for minting…Because pennies cost more than 2 cents to make

Thing is, nickels cost much more than 5 cents to produce, and dimes cost more than ten cents…..Are they gonna stop them too? The logical move is that they should, simply because if it is the cost of production as a reason then they should start with nickels….

I’d rather see a change in the coins rather than simply removing the….make ’em with a hole in the center or something…

After all, a dollar bill is simply a medium of exchange, a symbol, as it were. It has no real value…..what matters isn’t the cost of the item, but what it represents….

At the end of it, if we would stop devaluing our money, then we’d not have this problem….

  1. If they made nickels with holes in them, I wouldn’t have to drill holes in the cheap copper colored washers like I do now.

Of course I’d feel bad using them because for some reason, I still think they’re worth …..mre than a cheap washer.
