Lack of communication

Didja ever notice that some folks (CoughLeftistsCough) hear what they *think* you said rather than what you actually said? And no matter how carefully you phrase something, they hear it through the filter of their preconceptions.

Even after you carefully repeat your statement, then carefully rephrase it?

How do you communicate with folks like that? When they cannot overcome their biases to actually hear what you said (or wrote).

(Yes, I am referring to CP and others)

  1. It's the same reason they keep telling us that the BOR needs to be
    "interpreted".

    Can't understand plain freakin'English.

  2. Leftist, eh? Preconceived notions and such. The best thing you can do is use facts, make your argument, and just point out the holes…the problem is the person supporting the opposite idea will do the same, and some just won't change irregardless. Now, if you are unwilling to change your position, then you end up like the Donnie supporters who have taken to suggesting the Mayor of Puerto Rico attacked Donnie (false, she attacked an insufficient response, like the general who lead the much heralded Katrina response after the initial fuck-ups) or that Union truckers in Puerto Rico are the problem (er, no, FEMA won't release some supplies, less than 20% of the truckers on the island can get to trucks that are usable, etc).

I'll, if that's what you are requesting…your ball and all.

  3. Never said it was union truckers there, did I? Nor that Donnie got attacked nor none of the rest you claimed there. Not sure what, exactly brought that on. Kinda delusional sometimes. WHich is the problem. You can't just HEAR what people are saying.

Perhaps you and I should ignore each others posts and comments. I speak (and write) plainly, most of the time…..But communication requires a receiver that works as well. Yours seems to have issues.

Try just hearing, and listening. Don't interpret.

You demonstrate exactly what I blogged about.

  4. Never said you said that, B.

I said "Donnie supporters", the some was implicit in the sentence…perhaps you should read again? You did prove your own point, yourself.

  5. "Now, if you are unwilling to change your position, then you end up like the Donnie supporters who have taken to suggesting the Mayor of Puerto Rico attacked Donnie (false, she attacked an insufficient response, like the general who lead the much heralded Katrina response after the initial fuck-ups) or that Union truckers in Puerto Rico are the problem"

And I am unwilling to change my position. You brought up all the accusations quoted in your comment, not me.

I approach conversations like these willing to be educated, and concede that I may not know everything. You show only conceit for any position other than your own. Plus you lack courtesy (both are traits of leftists) in most of your comments.

Again, best we end this. We can't communicate. You read what you want in my statements. Perhaps I do so in yours. But you do for sure.

  6. B., "if you" is a general statement directed at the same type of individual you devoted this comment about. At no point was the "you" in my comment directed AT "you", it was a general term. Sorry for the confusion, but reread it with that idea and you'll understand. Perhaps an excellent example of miscommunication, I wasn't general enough.
