So you get to pay down someone els’s debt:

No one is paying off your home loan, nor your car loan, nor (if you have one) your Small Business loan…Or any other loans you may have chosen to assume.

But you are gonna pay off $20K of some young student’s loan….to the tune of about $2K per (taxpaying) citizen.

Where does Joe get off thinking that it is OK to take your and my money and give it to some student who freely chose to go into debt? Who was, supposedly, an adult, able to make decisions.

How is this fair to those people who found professions without student debt? Those military folks who served (and learned a trade while doing so)? Those of us who paid off OUR student loans? Those who never went to college and who work had for what they got?

I wonder if the “forgiveness” is even legal, really. Has anyone analyzed this?

Someone needs to tell the Media

That flooding from hard rains is not “Flash Flooding:. Places like Dallas don’t have enough elevation changes to allow for Flash Flooding. Not Chicago, either. They can get floods, and even fairly fast moving water, but Flash Flooding is a phenomenon that happens in mountains, or at least places with several hundred feet of elevation changes.

Just ’cause streams overflow and poorly drained areas fill with water, does not a Flash Flood make.

Hint for those folks whose cars were caught in flooded areas:…..pay some attention. Those areas did not fill in just minutes. Nor did the overpasses. Be smart, don’t drive into moving water that is higher than the bottom of your vehicle. Best not to drive into moving water at all, or any water that is higher than 1/3 the way up your tires, even if it is still water. Turning around (or backing up) is generally the best option.

Media: Floods are not :”Flash Floods” even if you think that it makes things sound more dramatic.

And the Feds are still selling off MORE oil

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is at a 35 year low, as Joe Biden continues to sell oil that was purchased cheaply years ago to help keep prices low (they really aren’t)  in a bit to help the MidTerm elections of Democrats….Of course, in the process, weakening the country should war break out. The SPR isn’t meant for keeping oil cheap, but as a strategic reserve should things get spicy in oil producing regions or other times when oil production is curtailed due to war or other military action.

(Of course, we now know that a significant amount of that SPR oil was sold through one of the companies connected to Hunter Biden…I wonder if the “Big Guy” got his 10% cut?)

Realize that the oil that was sold now has to be replaced…and with oil at high prices, that is gonna cost you and me and every other taxpayer just to return to the previous level….But hey, whatever we gotta do to help Joe and the DNC folks, AmIRite?

Apparently, this is what they were looking for:

According to the source, the FBI “Raided” Trump’s home looking for the letter that Barry left for him when Trump took office, and a letter from Kim Jong Un. (or, at least, that was the pretext).

The fact that they made a big spectacle of it that was splashed over the news for days was, of course, simply a coincidence.

I’m thinking that the entire thing was orchestrated to make Donnie look bad. The fact that it further polarized an already divided electorate was an unexpected result.

We shall see how things progress once the affidavit is unsealed, assuming that it isn’t entirely redacted.

Either way, the left got their moment showing FBI agents raiding Mar-A-Lago and got Trump connected with an FBI raid.

They must REALLY be afraid of him.

It isn’t like they weren’t warned

I mean, even Donnie Trump warned ’em about 6 years ago that they were vulnerable.

But the Green folks convinced Merkle to depend on Natural Gas as a source of energy rather than other forms that come from more reliable producers…

And now Russia is playing games.

I bet when the average German Citizen is sitting in their cold and dark home, then Russia’s influence will begin to mean something…..

So Juan and Jose` decide to try panhandling.

They set up on a busy corner at 9 AM and begin begging for money, one in each direction, holding cardboard signs asking for money. About 1 pm, they decide to take a break and compare how much they had collected

Juan has $2857, Jose` has $42.

Jose says “Wow, how did you get all that money? We had the same amount of traffic, but you got so much more money.”

Juan says “What does your sign say?

Jose` shows him the sign: “Need money, out of work and homeless, please help”.

“It’s your sign, that’s the problem” says Juan, and shows him the sign he’s been holding up for the past 4 hours: “Need a few more dollars so I can go back to Mexico”.

It lives

So the woodsplitter got uncovered over the winter. The 10 Hp engine sat out and I didn’t notice that the tarp had blown off of it…water had gotten into the carb and mice had eaten the spark plug wire insulation. (This splitter was homemade,  from parts sourced (likely) from industry. Hell of a big cylinder (like 8″) with a bunch of oversized rails and tanks and fittings. It is a cobbled together mess, that I bought 30 years ago at a sale but it splits wood like no tomorrow…. and I have replaced the worn out 10 HP Briggs with another (less) worn out 10HP Briggs engine).

But it needed the carb cleaned up or replaced…..And the magneto fixed…or an engine replacement…..

No problem, says I. I have another engine sitting in the barn from a Cub Cadet lawnmower that is identical to the one on the splitter. Should take about 4 hours to swap ’em out…Except I can’t find it. I had it 6 or so years ago, but not now…I either traded it or simply lost it in the clutter. I dunno.

So I raided my neighbor’s pile of scrap and found an engine in parts that used the same magneto. Stole that. (he’s good about that sort of thing. We swap stuff all the time…if he needs it and I have it it is his, same-same)

Looked on Amazon for a carb rebuild kit. Huh. Gasket, float and needle kits are $40 ish. New chinese copies of the carb were $19. So I bought a carburetor. .

Supposed to be an “Exact replacement”. Not really, but the throat size was the same, and the mounting bolts were in the right place….it would work. While not an “exact replacement”, it did fit and with a few washers and some filing, all the other parts fit onto to it.

Now I have a working woodsplitter.

Of course, the starter failed right after I got the engine running (corrosion from exposure kept the bendix from disengaging and it ate the gear) but I did have a starter that I had cleaned up from another engine sitting (where I could find it!!) on the shelf and it was a simple swap.

Runs like a champ now. I shall split wood with it this weekend.

So nice to have parts and such that can be repurposed.
