For medicine and science to adequately deal with Covid19, "we" will have to know actual numbers for deaths due directly to Covid.
Just before posting this comment I checked the Johns Hopkins Covid map. U.S. deaths 87,427. I have to think that at least one-third of those numbers are non-Covid deaths due to comorbidity issues as the primary cause of death. Would you think 1/3rd is too high/low?
I would expect it to be that high or possibly higher. I have no idea (and no way to measure) how much Covid inflation is taking place.
